I have been in the interior design and furnishing industry for 25 years. I was inspired to start my own business after working for a brilliant businessman who taught me the value and principles of good business. Blending my passion for light, great design and the desire to provide the best service to my customers, I started Shades of Light in 2003.
Window coverings help with insulation from heat and cold, ultimately reducing energy consumption. We carry a wide selection of blinds, shades, shutters, draperies and hardware as well as custom solutions for any window. Many of our products offer environmentally friendly benefits and are made from recycled materials, and can be recycled at the end of use, helping our landfills.

Karen was an absolute pleasure to work with on getting shades for our home. She made a visit to our house and Karen brought a ton of samples to go through. She was very helpful in choosing material and even had great insight on choosing the best fabric to go in our home. And she did the measurements so didn't have to worry about making a mistake myself. Ordered a Hunter Douglass roll up shade for our back bedroom and a motorized roll up for our patio sliding door. With the sliding door facing west, it was one of the best investments we've made on our home to block out the direct light
