This old house that is our Cafe & Gift Shop was once called the 'Woods' house located on 5th St in the Central Addition district in Downtown Boise. It was then beautifully restored with a lovely flower garden and outdoor seating added. The Sturiale Place, originally known as The Wood House, was first located on South 5th Street in Boise's Central Addition, formally one of Boise's most prominent neighborhoods.

Built between 1893 and 1899 and surrounded by apple orchards. In 1905 owner Mary F. Wood became the first librarian of the new Boise Carnegie Library. It's Queen Anne architectural style is characterized by its irregularity, with a variety of window treatments, multiple steep roofs, porches, and bay windows.
Services
The Queen Anne cottage originally constructed at 412 S. Fifth Street in Boise's Central Addition neighborhood and recently relocated to 1501 W. Jefferson Street, was built in 1893 for Marcus B. Zimmer. No architect has been identified for the house and no details regarding its construction have been found.
Our Cafe is a place to enjoy a delicious homemade Italian meal in a very lovely and historic setting. The dining area is a bit small, so we have one large communal table and a few tables for two. It reminds me of my travels to Europe many years ago and I wanted to offer the same kind of familiar and friendly atmosphere.

What a sweet little place with good food and an historical flare.
A real find especially since the weather was nice so we were able to sit out on the lovely patio. Owner gave us a tour of the historic house and was delightful. Kudos to Gina who put the delicious meal together.
I will be back for sure.

Lovely ambiance, nourishing food and kind people. Much care has been taken to renew and revive This Old House. The grounds are well kept, the service is spot on, coffee, soup and salad was wonderful. I liked the outside seating and the weather was perfect. I will be back to try something different next time. Thanks for the tour and history lesson for this Boise local.
12/3/18 I have not been back. I have tried to figure out what is going on as they have been closed for quite some time. As best I can figure out is they are only doing private events currently. Check their website. I guess I was

A beautifully restored Boise relic. We were immediately greated by lovely Nikki. Warm and inviting, we could have stayed all day. The Sturiale Place makes you feel like you've come home to a long lost friend.
