Village Blacksmith Inc. is the forge and shop facility of artist-blacksmith Ken Roby. Ken is known for his hand-forged architectural ironwork and his creative problem-solving. Gates, railings, and balconies, custom furniture, hardware, fireplace screens, lamps and a wide variety of miscellaneous and restorative works compose Ken's impressive portfolio.
Ken's interest is in the art of the blacksmith, so most pieces continue to be made by hand and are signed and dated. His creations incorporate both traditional methods of blacksmithing and joinery as well as more modern techniques.

Many of our tools are over 100 years old, and the rest not far behind. The shop is equally well equipped with modern tools and equipment, making a brief overview for you blacksmiths and tool aficionados impossible in anything less then a novella. Wildweed Farm is our home and the home of Village Blacksmith.

Wildweed Farm is our home and the home of Village Blacksmith. The 1850's post and beam farmhouse was apparently built by a local millwright whose Civil War era grave lies not too far away. Over the years bits and pieces of the farm were sold off and when I acquired the property in 1994, bulldozing the dilapidated house was a reasonable option.

Ken Roby is a great guy, super friendly and super talented!! I had him restore a banister/balcony from the French Riveria from 1890 that came from an antique store in Atlanta. Ken took the time to restore it to PERFECTION. It is FABULOUS!! Everyone comments how beautiful it is. He also did an amazing job installing it. I highly recommend Ken for any wrought iron project you are wanting to do. He is an outstanding blacksmith and can help you design your staircase or balcony and is a true artist. Thank you Ken! You are the BEST!! Cathleen

I stopped by on a referral from a friend (Dennis W.) and found Ken and his guys to be very welcoming, creative and fun. I felt like I was stopping into a small business in Mayberry...the only thing missing was Andy...and Aunt Bea...and Opie...ya can't forget Goober...and Floyd...and the man himself, "Barn"! Looking forward to doing some business with these guys one day!
