We receive our first Annuals in late April - typically pansies! We offer flowering annuals and annual accent plants for full sun, part sun/shade and full shade. Some more unusual annuals include nicotiana, amaranth and annual salvias. Accent plants, typically not grown for their flowers, include vinca, spikes, ivies, annual grasses, sweet potato vine, licorice plant, eucalyptus and more.
Perennials are herbaceous plants that die-back mostly to the ground-level each fall and emerge again the following spring. Short-lived perennials, like poppy, will return each year for about five years but others, like peony, may become established enough to survive for decades. Perennials can become so large that they stop flowering.
Trees and shrubs give your landscape structure and definition whether they frame a view or block it. Because they don't die back to the ground in winter, they can add elegance to your home's architecture, soften a hardscape or establish an entryway year-round. Trees typically have a single trunk and reach twenty feet or more in height.

Wide range of house plants and pots; lots of color and variety. Prices seem reasonable, friendly staff. Extra boxes on hand to help transport items.

This place has great selection and such nice staff. The indoor plants are hearty and they have so much other interesting decor and products from cool interior accents to homewards and even bat houses! I love this place.

Ward’s has supplied the shrubs for the new Pittsfield Beautiful gardens at The Colonial Theater, Courthouse, Redding Park, and Summer Street. The shrubs are healthy, strong, and full plus the folks at Ward’s have been most helpful and accommodating. Great place and wonderful staff.

Staff was rude when approached about having my dog with me. Lady said "sorry we don't allow dogs but you can go stand with him or her in the parking lot." Store has a huge selection but seems overpriced.

Very nice assortment. Some staff and many customers have that south county snub about them, but overall, a nice selection with decent prices. Better than its rival that's in lanesboro

I have worked with a few nurseries in the area recently, and yesterday called Ward's for the first time, about 1/2 hour before closing, two see if they had 2 types of perennials in stock. The young woman on the phone was very friendly and quickly was able to confirm that they did and an approximated the quantity for me. I told her that I wanted to pick up several plants, but would literally arrive 5 minutes before close. She told me that would not be a problem, and explained where to find the plants. When I arrived, the first employee I encountered asked me if I needed help and brought me

Exceptionally rude and unprofessional experience with staff. I was directed to the customer service desk for help and was ignored by a staff member for about five minutes. With his back turned, he finally said 'can I help you?' I had no idea he was talking to me or that he was aware I existed. I asked about a product they stock and he could not have been less helpful to basic questions about availability and shipping time. I'm a landscaping professional and had a large order to place. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Has everything, often very helpful, but ridiculously expensive. So only buy there what you have to, and get basic gardening supplies at the hardware store. Today I bought a hose for $20 at Carr Hardware that was $26 at Ward's. Same brand, same hose. They also carry Roundup, which no responsible store should do.
