I've been creating art my entire life and tattooing for the past 18 years. I opened Matchless Tattoo in 2009 because I wanted to work in a professional environment that would be welcoming to people from all walks of life. A place where I could focus on making tattoos that defy convention or clichs.
The truth is, you're only as good as your last tattoo, that's why I strive to make each tattoo better than the last. I especially love to make tattoos that are full of motion, color, and depth. It's true that not all tattoos reach the level of fine art, but they can, and if that's what you're looking for, I hope I'll see you in my shop soon.

Mike is my family's tattooist. My daughter (LOTS of tattoos) found him first. Then me (9+ tats.) And finally my son, who has only one tat, so far, based on Jamberry, his #1 absolutely favorite childhood book.

I've seen Mike's work decades old and still looking awesome. I finally took the plunge and got started. He is super friendly, professional and easy to work with. He helped me work through a vicious vasovagal response I have to needles and he was both patient and encouraging. His work is truly "matchless" in precision and artistry. I look forward to working with Mike in the future.

Mike is a very meticulous artist with a gentile hand, and the shop was super comfortable (we were there for around 7-8 hours). He did a matching piece for me and my sister, and we are extremely happy with the result. If you're looking for a tattoo artist in north bay, he is the person you want to go to.

Summer and everyone at Matchless Tattoo is incredible. My 6 year old granddaughter had her ears pierced there and they were so professional and kind to her. They walked my daughter through every step of the process and the after care and also spoke to my granddaughter at a level she could understand. I highly recommend them for piercings.

Summer is the best piercer out there! She is incredibly thorough, clean, and precise. Not to mention great to talk to and hangout with during the process. I've had my share of piercing experiences and she is by far the best, she makes everything so easy, chill and painless. Never going to another piercer!

Nothing like getting your first tattoo! I was recommended to Mike by my brother and it was a fantastic experience! He was personable, willing to create the design I wanted yet gave input from his experience and talent to make sure I got what I wanted! Stoked about how it came out! I even had my cheerleading, support crew come with me and we all had a blast making a memory together. Thanks Mike!

Drove from Rohnert Park, when we arrived (after calling and getting no response besides the message on the phone saying they were open till 7 and just busy.) the shop was closed and had a posted sign that said they closed at 6 but I called before 6 and got no answer. a simple "hey were closing early" on the phone would have saved a drive if they were still open like the sign, voicemail, and website say they were. I know piercing shops and tattoo parlors have flexible hours due to the artistic lifestyle most in the industry lead but this was unprofessional and disappointing.

Super friendly & extremely knowledge, FAR SUPERIOR TO CLAIRES! Excellent job explaining ear piercing choices, the importance of keeping it clean, how to clean, what products to use, healing stages in through next 6 months. Asked us to please check in and come back in and she will change out the earrings for us....Kudos!

We visited tonight to collect a piercing from Jess Rose for my 13 soon to be 14 year old daughter! Jess was thorough calming and truly professional! She explained every step in the process and pierced my daughters nose in a flawless motion making it a truly exciting experience. Hardly any redness after the fact! I own a tattoo shop myself and I have been in the business for forty years so when I say Jess Rose is a compassionate professional I mean it! Thank you. Jess!

Summer pierced my daughter's ears... At first she was nervous, but Summer made her feel 100% comfortable & took the time to let her breathe in between ears. My daughter asked me "When will we see Summer again? She is so nice"

Summer is an expert piercer and a badass! I'm glad I chose to support such an awesome local Sebastopol business. She pierced my conch and now I won't be taking my business anywhere else. She took a lot of time to chat with me and offered me advice about a piercing I had done by another piercer that was irritated.
The shop is clean and has awesome decorations; to top it off, as I came in, a mom and her young daughter who had just gotten her ears pierced for the first time were just leaving. That's a great sign to me! Family friendly because Summer puts her clients at ease.

I love Matchless! I have been a few different times for a nose piercing, a few ear piercings, and jewelry changes. The staff is absolutely amazing! I have had both of the piercers, Summer and Jess, and both are amazing! The are so kind and always make me feel welcome and warm. They are very talented piercers and spend a lot of time getting every detail right and making sure you get exactly what you want. I love all of the piercings and jewelry I have gotten from Matchless so much! This truly is a wonderful tattoo and piercing shop!

Great shop! I've had my septum done 3 times previously and had been thinking of getting it done again; I work less than a block away so I decided to check this place out. Summer is just tooo great, honestly phenomenal. She was full of insight and information, and was super personable as well. I am used to shops that want to get people in and out as fast as possible--a nostril and navel assembly line, if you will. But at Matchless, Summer took her time to make sure that her work was fully sterile and top quality. And on too of all that, she checked out my nose and recommended re-stretching

I have been to matchless 3 times over the last 6 months for a total of 12 hours of tattooing with Mike, and i hope to sit with him for another 12+ hours. Mike is a seriously good guy, and great at tattooing. He really is city talent without the city prices or having to drive 1.5 hours to SF. Everyone at the shop is really nice and helpful too.

Yesterday I went to Mike at Matchless Tattoo to have a portrait tribute of Merle Haggard done.Holy crap I am so in love with this piece!Mike did an amazing job!He and his staff are amazing,welcoming and down to earth.I was there all day and he was so engaging and HILARIOUS!I highly recommend this shop!I will be back!
