Dale Old Wrecker Service is one of the largest and oldest wrecker companies within Hampton Roads. Being one of the best local tow and transport providers hasn't happened overnight. Owner, Dale Old, started the company in 1986 while holding a full time position as a mechanic at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Operating with a used 1972 Ford Truck in the evenings, while a friend ran the truck during the day, Dale Old has grown his Wrecker Service around the importance of dedication to his employees and customers.
With over 25 tow trucks in our fleet, we are able to tow just about anything imaginable. We have the truck that's just right for your job. During the normal business day, we get calls for just about every kind of job, and with our fleet of tow trucks we are ready for anything.
We have Light Duty wreckers that are good for winching a car out of a ditch, witch is common around the Virginia Beach area, they are also an advantage in tight urban areas and parking lots.Flatbeds and Rollbacks are used for all wheel drive vehicles, motorcycles, and specialty towing. And of course our Heavy Duty Wreckers allow us to tow or haul large commercial vehicles and containers.

Unfortunately I wanted to give 5 stars however, the customer service was an issue for me. No one wakes up expecting to tow their car but I understand that life happens which made my day a bit stressful but like I said, these things happen. My dealership told me to call this service and Tammy was fast and helpful and said someone would come sometime the same day, and this was about 7:30am. Around 2pm I call again to ask an estimated time because I was going to be in some meetings for work and wanted an update. Tammy told me she would call when they were on the way. I’ve used them twice, both times there wasn’t much communication. The first time the tow was set up by the auto body shop. The shop called me and asked if I was home with the keys so that I could have my disabled car towed from my home. I was not home with the car but told them I would go home to meet the driver. I was assured the tow company would be there within an hour. I went home for no reason because they did not show up until the next day at a random time and only called me once they were outside; no prior indication that they would be arriving soon.

Writing this review partly out of thankfulness for anyone still finding dignity in showing up to work, earning an honest wage, as apparently it’s super cool these days to take free money to not work, leaving the rest of society hanging. -And partly because hardworking folks who carry the extra burden especially deserve the credit where it’s due.

Critical: Professionalism
Not 24 hours at all! Called for a tow on Sunday night at 11:00 and was told he wouldn't do it to call another company. I've used them several times in the past (and recommend them) and was always very pleased with their service, but after the RUDE response tonight I will never be using or recommending them again!

Was referred by Alcon Automotives, my car had been sitting for awhile and needed some repairs . Called Dale and scheduled a towing , less than 30-45 mins later they were at my house and hooking up . Arvin was the tow guy ! Very professional and careful !
