Audiphone Company of Akron is one of the longest running business in Ohio dedicated solely to the purpose of Hearing Health Care. Throughout Audiphone Company's 85 years in business we have been part of the evolution of hearing aids. From large body worn hearing aids with wires and batteries strapped to the leg to today's miniature high tech digital hearing aids capable of processing millions of bits of information in a nanosecond.

But our mission has always remained the same. To provide hearing impaired persons in the greater Akron area with the highest degree of professional, state of the art technology services available. The best technology, however, remains of limited value without the knowledge and expertise of our audiologists to utilize this technology to its highest degree of effectiveness and to individualize it to our patients.

Earwax, in general, is normal. A thin layer of earwax within the ear canal is actually protective, because it helps prevent the growth of certain fungi and bacteria. If your ear canal produces excessive earwax, this problem can be prevented by regular ear check-ups by our Audiologists. They can gently remove any excess earwax.

A diagnostic hearing evaluation is done to determine if hearing loss is present, and if so, to detail the type and severity of the hearing loss. This comprehensive evaluation may also provide insight into the cause of hearing loss and assist our Audiologists in making appropriate treatment recommendations.
