When I say I want to photograph someone, what it really means is that I'd like to know them. I have been a professional photographer since 1985, specializing in portraits of children of all ages and their families. I photograph newborns, babies, children, families, pets, high school seniors and business portraits and enjoy showing people at their best.
I also work in editorial, event, fine art and architectural photography. Fueled by an endless curiosity about people and a desire to connect with my subjects I am especially passionate about portrait photography and strive to create a natural portrait that truly reflects the individual. I am inspired by light and the stories behind my subjects.

Being a parent is the best job I have ever had. Pictured here are my children, Claire and Tommy who have grown into amazing young adults. I treasure my portraits of them now more than ever. I pride myself on knowing how to make everyone look their best, and making even the most reluctant subject feel at ease.
I am privileged to serve as co-director of the local chapter of Flashes of Hope alongside the fine photographers from Studio 66. When a child or teenager is diagnosed with cancer, trips to the hospital instantly become the new routine. Isolated from school, siblings and friends, it can be a challenge to find reasons to smile, yet, children with cancer find a way.

Helen Adams has been our family photographer for almost 20 years. She does excellent work, is patient with kids (far more so than I am), and she captures more than just faces. She captures personalities. She also has taken my kids senior pictures as well. She’s SO easy to work with and is really creative with both the setting and the poses. They never look fake or posed. I’d highly recommend her. I just love the work that she does. And more importantly, my teenagers love working with her!

Helen has been taking pictures of my family for almost 30 years. First it was my daughters, then the whole family and now she has photographed my grandchildren as well. It would be difficult to find someone more talented... her photos are phenomenal! Helen is gentle and caring and easy to work with. Her photos are keepsakes that I cherish. She is a wonderful person with an amazing ability to capture the perfect image. And she will go the extra mile to get that image to fit an antique frame! You can trust Helen to do a beautiful job for you. She has for me, many times!
