We are "Foodies" in business to serve the foods that we love. We have taken a Ecologically friendly stance of "Do the right thing" with our business footprint here in Lancaster. Paper straws, wooden eating utensils, cardboard "to go" boxes, soda in glass bottles, energy efficient lighting, appliances and cooking practices that have eliminated all gas fired cooking equipment are some of our initial steps.
Our house specially blended lemonade steeped with cinnamon sticks to give it our own unique flavor. Big 20 oz. House brewed Indian black tea steeped with cinnamon sticks to give it a unique refreshing taste and sweetened with house made liquid cane sugar upon request. We make you a fresh tea bag with loose tea of your choice.

Saw this place while walking around downtown tucked away in an alley. The food was great, very fresh! The guy working was very nice and when we got our food and he showed us (it looked amazing) you can tell he takes pride in his work. He seems like a very nice guy, if we weren’t in a rush today it would have been nice talking to him and learning the history of the place. If I ever find myself in Lancaster again I would 100% go back, I wish him all the best.

Tom, the owner of the Lancaster Downtown Deli, knows ingredients the way a virtuoso pianist knows notes, and with them, he composes symphonies of flavor; a true food craftsman. In having eaten at the Lancaster Downtown Deli, I've experienced food, such as the coleslaw, made in ways that I've never had it before, but in ways much more delicious. I've experienced a grilled cheese sandwich, a food item that is often taken to be insubstantial, that tastes better than any grilled cheese sandwich has a right to taste, and that is incredibly substantial. Wow.. everything is made there!! I think often places make main items and then buy premade sides and salads. This man makes all the sides himself (accept UTZ of course). Just a very nice small town's small business. Super friendly and caring service. I watched how he treated each individual customer like they were his best regular customer. I look forward to getting another sandwich here again one day.... and fresh made tasty flavored tea.

We had a special request to have sandwich trays delivered to our wedding venue for the bridal party luncheon. The sandwiches were delivered on time and so delicious. All freshly made that morning. I cannot believe I haven't found this deli sooner, but I'm so glad I found it now! The food is amazing - I watched them make my egg sandwich with real, just-cracked eggs, and my smoothie with actual fruit. The owners were unbelievably sweet and genuinely want to share the love of food with our city.
Give them some love next time you're at Central Market, because I guarantee you won't get a sandwich there as good as these ones!

Tom is a great guy who makes great sandwiches! I've had the pastrami on rye and the Italian; both were excellent. The homemade lemonade is excellent as well (brewed with cinnamon and honey, I'm told). Will eat here again.
Also, their boxed sandwiches are a great option for a quick, customized catered lunch; we've used them at our company in the past and everyone thought they were great!
