Services
Colorado Foot and Ankle offers a full array of services by our podiatrists to help you maintain healthy feet. Ankle sprains are caused by an unnatural twisting or force on the ankle bones of the foot, often resulting in one or more ligaments on the outside of the ankle to be stretched or torn. If not properly treated, ankle sprains could develop into long-term problems.
Diabetes can be dangerous to your feet - even a small cut can produce serious consequences. Diabetes may cause nerve damage that takes away the feeling in your feet. Diabetes may also reduce blood flow to the feet, making it harder to heal an injury or resist infection. Because of these problems, you may not notice a foreign object in your shoe.
Heel pain is most often caused by plantar fasciitis, a condition that is sometimes also called heel spur syndrome when a spur is present. Heel pain may also be due to other causes, such as a stress fracture, tendonitis, arthritis, nerve irritation, or, rarely, a cyst. Because there are several potential causes, it is important to have heel pain properly diagnosed.
It is never too early to have your child's foot examined. Many problems are much easier to correct at a young age rather than wait until the foot stops growing. Contrary to popular belief most foot problems are not "outgrown". Around the age of 10 years old, it is common to see an active child with heel pain.
Your first visit to Colorado Foot and Ankle establishes a vital foundation for our relationship with you. During the first visit, we make sure to obtain important background information, like your medical history, and give you time to get to know your doctor. You'll find all the practical information you need, such as a map and directions to our office, practice hours, payment policies and more.

Dr. Jacob Fassman and his staff were exceptional in the treatment over several months of the diabetic bone infection of my foot. The infection was stubborn and required the removal of several bones and associated tissue. His careful treatment and guidance through three operations and extensive antibiotic treatment, as well as his teamwork with infectious disease and circulatory specialists was highly professional, patient, and catering. His team always made me feel like someone special, and always gave me support and hope through this extensive process. And, the result was completely successful

I have bunions and issues with both my big toe nails. Doctor Fassman listened to my concerns and understood I couldn’t do surgery, being a single mom I need to be on my feet at all times. He helped get me insoles for my feet to help the bunions from growing and removed my toenails so they can grow back correctly. Excellent care. 10/10 would recommend!

Great staff, very knowledgeable, and above all - friendly! Dr. Fassman did an amazing job at fixing my foot - I had bunions, hammertoes, you name it....but his surgical expertise left me with a whole new working foot! Post surgery, they were very helpful in setting me up with a physical therapist to start getting movement back in my foot. Honestly, so long as you do your due diligence as a patient and follow all of their guidelines pre-surgery and post, you will be amazed at the results! 10/10 would recommend to anyone in the Springs looking for a reliable and professional podiatrist.

This review is from my mother-in-law who lives in CO Springs but was not able to post for herself: I had a very painful ingrown toenail and was worried about having it cut and having even more pain. On Aug 20, Dr. Fassman performed a procedure with NO pain and I followed the orders about soaking my foot twice a day and now it is 15 days since and I have had absolutely NO pain at all in the toe. Dr. Fassman is so kind and gentle and a great foot doctor that I would only want him if I ever have another ingrown toenail. They have a lovely office with all nice people there. I saw Dr. Fassman yesterday

We have been going to Dr Gessner for various issues for about 2 1/2 years. My wife injured her ankle at ballet in SaltLake City 3 decades ago and was told that she would not dance again, and there was nothing that could be done for it at the university hospital there. She recovered enough to dance again, but was limited by pain, so much so she had to quit dancing in about 1989. She tried again briefly 2001 and 2002, but the pain became too great. Fast forward to 2016 and out first visit to Colrado Foot and Ankle. Dr Gessner examined her and determined that her tendons that should have kept her
