The Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District is responsible for implementing a solid waste plan designed to achieve goals determined by the Ohio EPA for waste reduction, recycling, and reducing reliance on landfills. Trumbull County Collection Facility is open to accept household hazardous waste, electronics and appliances!. Do not hand materials to District staff - we will remove from trunk, truck bed, or back seat.
Services
The following district communities have contracted curbside recycling services for their residents. If you live in one of the following areas contact your community for more information. If your community has not contracted curbside services for its residents, you may have the option to bundle curbside recycling with your regular trash pickup.
Recycle Bottles, Jugs, Jars, Cans and Paper/Cardboard at all our Recycling Drop-off Sites. Additional materials MAY be accepted in some curbside recycling programs. These items can be recycled, reused or donated elsewhere: (Choose category to learn more.) These items ARE NOT ACCEPTED at the recycling drop-off sites or in your curbside recycling bins.
If you have only a few tires, most reputable tire sales businesses (Wal-Mart, Firestone, NTB, Wholesale Tire, etc.) will accept your used tires for disposal FOR A FEE. Contact a local business like this near you for their current pricing. If you have a large quantity of tires to dispose of, contact one of the registered scrap tire transporters for your area (see below).
No matter where you live in Geauga or Trumbull County, you can include plastic bottles, jars and jugs, cans, paper and boxes in your home recycling. Reduce your trash when you combine these items in your curbside recycling. Recycle better, recycle right. Leave recyclables loose - not bagged. Plastic bags do not belong in your recycling bin or cart.
