Services
Established in 1923 in Detroit, MI as the UNIVERSAL WEATHERSTRIP AND SCREEN COMPANY manufacturing wood storms, screens and porch enclosures, this firm grew steadily through World War II.

With the advent of aluminum and the increasing consumer demand for aluminum doors, windows and similar products, the company changed to specialize in weatherstrip products for residential, commercial and industrial structures and, at that time, tailored its name to UNIVERSAL WEATHERSTRIP COMPANY, INC.
One of the best is our brush seal for the jambs and header, which is very easily installed, either with double face tape or screwed on. The brush material withstands over 1 million openings and closings. The door bottom can also be weatherstripped with a brush seal, or various other types of door bottoms available to you in our store.

They have all the products I need for weather sealing my historic window restoration projects. Great service, quality products. The only place in the area to get a lot of what I need.

I went in today looking for a special gasket and although they did not have the gasket they referred me to a place that did. I would have never found it without them. Thanks

Does not stand behind the products they sell. Customer service has always been great except for the owner, he is happy as a jaybird when taking your money but not so happy when confronted with an issue on something purchased. He has been there way too long and needs to retire already. I purchased Vulkem caulk in white from him on 1-14-21 which if your in the business you know has a shelf life. Everything that was caulked with that case turned yellow after 24 hours. He acted like I was doing something wrong and offered no remedy. I have been in the business I am in, for 25 Years and have applied

Good looking place off the Schoolcraft and I 96 service drive. Brave business to stay in its current location, considering. Will benefit greatly from the forth coming gentrification of that area.
