Respectful of each person's self-worth, St. Thomas Aquinas High School seeks to develop each student's God-given talents in a safe and caring atmosphere of sharing and challenge. We believe that each person in our school community, having been created in the image and likeness of God, has dignity and importance.
As St. Thomas Aquinas High School celebrates its 83rd year, the school community harkens back to 1936 when St. Anthony School enrolled 12 high school students to initiate Catholic secondary education in Broward County.

Under the aegis of the Dominican Sisters from Adrian, Michigan, and motivated by the motto, "Not for school but for life we learn, " the school grew to a student body of 42 in four years, boasting nine graduates who comprised the Class of 1940.St. Anthony High School earned its initial affiliation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in 1941.
St. Thomas Aquinas High School, a Roman Catholic, co-educational, college preparatory school has acquired national recognition for academic and athletic excellence. Founded in 1936, STA has provided quality Catholic secondary education to Fort Lauderdale and the South Florida community for 84 years.
All of us must give appropriate credit to the genius of the individuals who crafted what we now call American football. Even though it was not finessed in its early stages, it has developed into an exciting, challenging and entertaining experience not to mention the financial advantage to the chosen few.
Our school values the worth and dignity of every person, the pursuit of truth, devotion to excellence, acquisition of knowledge, and the nurture of democratic citizenship. Essential to the achievement of these standards are the freedom to learn and to teach and the guarantee of equal opportunity for all.

St. Thomas prepared me extremely well for college, and I know my classmates feel the same way. Education does not take a backseat to the athletics program in any way. If anything, the athletics program helps instill a great sense of school pride, a sense of belonging, and a sense of family...all of which are important for the emotional and intellectual development of individuals. STA focuses on developing the individual as a whole.

A great school with lots of activity choices, including non-athletes like my kids. The staff and teachers are caring yet tough when they need to be. As a parent, I was very happy with the academics; students can choose from a ton of classes - regular, honor, AP.
Do STA kids have an edge getting into top Florida colleges? I don't know; mine applied and were accepted at UF, one of the tougher ones; most friends did too.
Do STA kids have an edge getting into out of top out of state schools? Students have been accepted just about everywhere. My kids and their friends were offered a wide range of
