Tranquility, function, and color inspire me. My purpose as a designer is creating harmony for your individual style with my own signature. Burke Designs was established in 1995. I attended the Parsons School of Design before completing my B.S. in Interior Design at Meredith College with a minor in Art. Before starting my own company, I gained experience as a design consultant with two local builders assisting homeowners with selections for new construction.

Laura helped us with a major updating project involving wallpaper, paint, drapes, lamps, reupholstery, and furnishings. We reached out to Laura to help us revamp our 90s kitchen, looking for new cabinets, countertop, and backsplash. She was great to work with - fun and awesome in providing options for us to choose from. Her options were great so there wasn't a lot of back and forth. She hooked us up with an amazing contractor and businesses to implement the choices. We're very happy with the new kitchen!

Laura guided us through a total kitchen and living space renovation, full bathroom renovation and other updates. Her experience and advice was invaluable. She made the process easy with her suggestions and ability to understand our desires. Laura works with an amazing contractor who is also a cabinet maker and does high quality work. I really don't know how we would have gotten this renovation done, especially in these crazy times, without Laura and Joe.

Through my experiences with Laura, I have really learned the differences between a decorator and a designer. This is not a distinction that, as a man, I understood in the beginning of our “re-do” project. I definitely understand that difference now. Laura has been an active partner in the process of remodeling the main living areas of our condo. Throughout the process, paint colors, furniture, lighting, etc., Laura has been there with us in person (both here at our condo and at local vendors). I had a Virtual Design Appointment with Laura in March to stage my home for selling. This was incredibly easy and Laura was very clear in telling me exactly what her recommendations were. I have worked with Laura for close to 15 years....sometimes I had funds and energy for major renovations and other times I had funds for one room. Regardless, Laura would take the time to understand what I was hoping to achieve and give me options that felt “like me” within the budget and scope I was able to do.
