Approximately half of the deaths which occur in Onslow County NC involve people needing hospice care. The nearest hospice facility is an hour's drive from Jacksonville NC. Onslow Caregivers', an all-volunteer organization, is raising funds with community involvement for a proposed Hospice House in Onslow County that will also serve Craven, Jones and Pender counties in NC.
While the estimated construction cost to build a 6 to 7,000 square foot medical facility is $2.5 million, as we secure our site and finalize our plans to build, we have set a fundraising goal of $3.5 million to cover increasing construction material costs, construction of a fully-furnished turnkey facility and provide for ongoing maintenance.
