Charlie's Fish Fry

Visited after reading reviews. Did not disappoint. Charlie was at the counter and so friendly. Felt like a longtime friend. Per Charlie’s recommendation we ordered the cod dinner. It did not disappoint. Lightly battered to let the wonderful flavor of the cod take center stage. The fries are some of the best I’ve ever had. Will definitely revisit.

The fried grouper was great! Lightly battered! The fish was cooked perfect! Two large filets! Golden fries and Cole slaw! The restaurant was very clean and we were able to talk with the owner! If you are in the Deerfield Beach area it is a great place to eat.

Charlie not only kept the place open late on Monday night to cook our catch of the day, but he also treated us like family! His team cooked our Snowy Grouper, Mahi Mahi & Blue Tile Fish to Perfection! What a great little treasure so close to Bolo Sport Fishing!

We checked out Charlie's for a basic fish & chips meal and were not disappointed. Charlie himself was working the eating area and is a personable guy who seems to care about his customers. The lobster bisque was okay, but not spectacular.
The fish & chips (cod) meal was great. My wife got the Grouper fingers and hers were also really good. We would go back again.

Stopped by 45 minutes before closing and made my order with the owner directly. I inquired about the history of the business to which he delivered answers with ease. Great food from a family owned business. My girlfriend and I both enjoyed the snapper and blackened shrimp, we will be returning.

I was delightfully surprised to find a great low-key, high-quality fish place. I went on a Local Flavor deal but I was told "that ended with Covid " but i still stayed for lunch. Glad I did. The owner-operator is otherwise quite hospitable in his own way.
The late Anthony Bordain would have said that this place was skilled in the "fry-o-lator arts". Frying is an art they appear to have mastered. Plus, If they went to the trouble of bringing in fresh NE cod then didn't I have to order fish & chips?

My husband and I wanted seafood but did not want to big seafood prices. We arrived at Charlie's about 30 minutes before closing and the hospitality was great. Delicious, fresh fried catfish with fries, coleslaw and raspberry tea. We recommend if you want a great meal to visit.

Charlie fish fry & seafood was very tasty. Didn’t expect this from the spot but does are usually the good spots. Charlie himself runs the business. He recommended cod and fries and didn’t disappoint. My wife had a Rouben fish ribbon and my mom had fried snapper. Both said it was good.

Wow, I haven't had fish & chips this good in years! Charlie's is a fantastic neighborhood join you might drive by without giving it a second look but don't. The decor isn't fancy but you can't eat that right. What really counts is excellent fish with good prices. Good

He had fried clam strips and I have a lobster roll, plenty of meat on both plates. Very generous!
Charlie, the owner was there when we arrived and remembered that I had called earlier to see about lobster rolls. Super friendly and Accommodating.

If you're looking for a little hole in the wall place with great customer service and good food, this is the place for you.

Charlie himself is very charismatic and helpful with recommending options.

The blackened grouper is phenomenal as well as the grilled vegetables.

If you get the wahoo just know that it's a very firm fish - so don't expect something flakey.

Charlie's fish fry is a great cheap option for seafood, we got the Maine lobster roll and the fish and chips. Both were excellent except the Maine style lobster roll was more Connecticut style than I expected, however both were prepared well and came out very quickly. Charlie was working the counter and was super friendly - definitely give it a try!

Super fresh, super delicious, and Charlie is always incredibly friendly and remembers everything ❤ Portions are perfect for feeling full without feeling overextended and amazing for the price.

I will most definitely come to this restaurant again while I'm on vacation. Ordered the fish n chips, and fried shrimp with fries as well. Both tasted amazing!

Great casual seafood place in Deerfield Beach. A friend recommended checking it out and I'm glad we did. Super fries. Excellent lobster bisque. Excellent fried conch. Chill vibe, friendly service.

This is a barebones place with 2 mismatched tables out front, inside a tad more charming, but in essence a quick-serve restaurant.

Food: 6.5/10 - chilled tender lobster pieces, not too small, on a toasted split bun. Buttered?? Comes with one side: slaw or excellent fries which were very tasty. But the roll is really too small, making for a tiny meal. We both could have easily eaten a second one (and that for lunch!).

Value: 6/10

Lust factor*: 5/10

The service was friendly and quick. We ordered fried shrimp and fries basket, shrimp tacos, fried catfish and fries basket. Everything was hot and fresh! We enjoyed eating outside. We love coming here!

So glad we drove by and decided to pull on. The whimpy burger was delightful and delish per my fiancé so much so I wasn't able to get a picture. Ha ha. The cod fish and chips were also delish! Everything was great here. Enjoy!

Delicious food! We got the blackened snapper and fried catfish. Both were absolutely amazing. I loved the snapper! The blackening spice is super flavorful. It's pretty cheap too! I say come here for some fresh fish

I've been here twice and can't wait to come back. They are super quick and serve up the best fried shrimps ever!!! The fries are exceptional and the cole slaw is great. The rice is quite good also. The staff is friendly and personable. It was quite a surprise to see that they vented my take out box by cutting a fish shaped hole in it! What a thoughtful gesture.

Fish fry done right! Always drive by this place and finally decided to stop in. I met Charlie himself! Very nice guy. The food hit the spot. I got the grouper tenders which was a pretty big portion, perfectly fried golden. I also got an order of fries and the hush puppies were my favorite! I could eat 100 of those! I'm a sucker for sauces and they have a really good tartar too. You can't beat the prices! I will be back!
