Mid-Michigan's premiere semi-professional ballet company was founded in 1990 by Founding Artistic Director Barbara Banasikowski Smith. The Greater Lansing Ballet Company has performed internationally, nationally and regionally and is also our community's doorway to some of the world's finest ballet dancers and instructors.
The company has hosted dancers and instructors from around the world including members of the National Ballet School of Gdansk, Poland and the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet in St Petersburg, Russia. Greater Lansing Ballet has participated in three international cross-cultural exchange projects to date.

Services
As the area's premier pre-professional ballet institution, the Greater Lansing Ballet Company brings this stunning art form to venues throughout Mid-Michigan. As a nonprofit organization, the GLBC also extends to young people a unique opportunity to learn and perform classical and contemporary ballet in an extraordinary professional environment.
The Greater Lansing Ballet Company offers youth, pre-professional, and professional dancers a vehicle for performance opportunities of full length ballet, as well as contemporary ballet, dance art education, and practical experiences in an atmosphere of professional standards. GLBC acquaints, educates, and enriches audiences of all ages.
Greater Lansing Academy of Dance strives to bring professional dance instruction to Mid-Michigan. We believe in nurturing a complete dancer, supporting them through each step of life and dance. A strong foundation in ballet, through the Vaganova method, allows the dancer to take leaps and bounds in other dance idioms including Modern, Tap and Jazz.
Tuition payments for each term are made either in Full or in "Monthly" installments - a "Monthly" fee being roughly equal to 4 weeks. There is no registration fee. As an example, the Fall Term typically has 4 months, so a 30min class will be around $100 for the entire term (Sept-Dec). Scholarships, college student discounts, military family, and other discount options are available for qualifying students.
Auditioning Dancers are required to take Ballet, Technique, and the Styles of dance they would like to be considered for (see below). Week 3 - Auditions are held in studio. We will accept video submissions for those that will be absent. Please have the videos emailed to the studio no later then when the class is scheduled to Audition (email to dancepremiercompany@gmail.com).
