Services
Fairhaven Integrative Health currently provides Naturopathic health care. As our practice grows we will add those services and practitioners that are most frequently requested by our patients. Physical examination used to be the backbone of the patient visit, but now in the midst of technology this crucial part of the doctors visit is disappearing.
Naturopathic physicians use traditional healing methods both validated by science and passed down through centuries of clinical observation. Naturopathic medical philosophy follows a therapeutic order and set of principles that starts with the least force and moves to more invasive measures as necessary.
My name is Dr. Sarah Garrett and I am a Washington state licensed Naturopathic physician. I hope that whether or not you have had great experiences with your healthcare thus far, that you believe in your body's natural ability to be healthy and if not I hope to show you it's potential. I believe that my job as your doctor is to help you realize and maintain the dream of health.
I am the resident naturopathic physician at FIH clinic. After living in Seattle for the past 18 years, my family and I have moved north to this beautiful city. We are looking forward to getting to know the community! I was drawn to naturopathic medicine as a parent looking for answers to the health conditions my family was facing.
If the practitioner you wish to see is not contracted with your insurance, we can submit a claim for out-of-network reimbursement on your behalf. Payment will be due at the time of service for all non-insured patients and for insured patients who have not yet reached their deductible. This is a popular option for the uninsured, those with high-deductible plans, and those with Medicare.

Dr. Joseph Garrett succeeded in diagnosing me with hydrogen dominant SIBO, whereas other doctors I had visited for over a year had no clue what was going on. His approach was kind, understanding, and he took the time to listen to me, not just chart down my symptoms and suggest a magic pharma pill. I would give Dr. Joseph Garrett and his office a "10" star rating if I could! I have seen nearly 30 doctors/specialists over the past several years desperately seeking help for my many debilitating chronic systems. Finally, I have found a Dr. who is getting to the root of my problems. Dr. Garrett is a great listener and goes over all your labs and diagnosis in great detail in a manner you can understand. He is smart, has a wonderfully calm demeanor and is never rushed. He is caring and highly invested in my helping me regain my health! I am beyond thankful to have found him!

I have worked with Dr. Sarah and Joseph Garrett for six years now. As someone who struggles with anxiety related to medicine and doctors, as well as someone who has had three surgeries in the last few years, I can say with confidence that working with this clinic has been a life saver! When I had a fever of 103 back in December 2019, I emailed the client portal and I received a response quickly (On a Saturday!!) with orders to get labs and recommendations for treatment that very day. Dr. Garrett was successful in diagnosing me with methane based SIBO. I had been working with several traditional doctors prior to visiting him (over 2 years) and was amazed at his ability to quickly assess my situation and provide not only a quick diagnosis, but also get me on the road to recovery. I would highly recommend him to anyone dealing with this issue, as he provided care and guidance through the whole recovery. Having SIBO is not a pleasant thing to live with, so I feel extremely fortunate in finding someone as caring and compassionate as Dr. Garrett.

Fairhaven Integrative Health is THE BEST! They take all our insurance (and we don’t have the good kind), are always helpful and have fantastic bedside manner. My favorite part is because they are a husband/wife team, the males in our household can see Dr Joe and the females in our household can see Dr Sarah. While I didn’t initially realize the importance of this, it’s been incredible to see how our family reacts to the doctor that they are most comfortable with.
