I didn't always want to build furniture. My original career was in music, having graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelors in Music Education. Tenor sax. Still play, but not as much as I would like. That turned out not to be the path for me. After a pretty diverse set of life experiences I sort of fell into carpentry.

If I find a suitable tree, I will have it delivered to my shop, taking care of the disposal issue. And if they wish, I will give a slab from the tree to the client to use as they wish. However, don't let this lead you into thinking this is an easy process. These logs are extremely large and awkward to move.

Please contact us regarding pricing. Smaller stock items will have regular posted prices. If a piece is already in inventory, its price will be posted. But given the unique challenges of working with these slabs, each piece is unique and will present its own challenges. To give a general idea of prices, our dining and conference tables range from around $3,000 - $20,000 and up, with the average cost for a basic table between $3,000-$7,000.

Well, this is my website, so there is here! Except in antique restoration, I do not use veneer in my furniture. Many of the finest pieces in the world are veneered. But wood that is 1/32 of an inch thick does not speak to me in the same way as solid wood. Along with that, I feel that furniture should be lived with.

All of our furniture is made here in our Charlemont shop. It is hand built using both traditional techniques (hand planing, dovetails, etc.) to the most modern (CNC router to flatten the slabs.). Having repaired some of the finest furniture ever made, I know pretty well what works and what doesn't.
