This cruise was great! It's more of an educational/informational boat ride around the bay but not complaining one bit. The guide made it enjoyable and entertaining and the views were great.
It gets a bit cold, even in June, so bring a thick jacket/blanket. They sell small blankets for $5 also.
A nice cherry on top were the free beverages they offered (frozen lemonade, coffee milkshake). Great activity with friends or family.

A great way to tour Newport waterways. The boat was small enough to be comfortable with seating arrangement One didn't feel crowded.
We have been coming to Newport every summer for over twenty years and have been on many boat tours. We found Patrick to be very witty and informative and learned both trivia and facts that we hadn't heard on previous tours.
Well worth the cost and time.

We did the 4:30 cruise with these guys on 7/23! This cruise was awesome, complimentary del's lemonade was served and you could purchase alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages on board. We had such a good time, Patrick was our tour guide and he was very funny, knowledgeable, and just the type of person you would want to hangout with. Had us laughing the whole time while learning some really cool things about the houses in Newport and all about yachts! Would highly suggest this cruise.

This was a lot of fun! We did this after an early dinner and had a nice view of the sun setting.
Patrick (with the crazy sneakers!) was awesome. He was very knowledgeable, funny and energetic with his guided narration. Not only did he know about the houses and landmarks; he knew a lot about some of the yachts that were docked in in the area.
Everyone received a "stuffie" , a champagne toast and they had a cash bar for beer and wine. Prices were very reasonable for being on a boat! I think a beer and a wine was $11.
I highly recommend giving this a go! It's a fun way to see

We stumbled across this activity and were glad we did. The hour and a half trip around Newport Harbor didn't seem that long. Our guide, Patrick, was a wealth of information about Newport and the sights even though he isn't from Newport. He was very amusing and handled a very talkative customer with great tact.
My recommendation as to where to sit: if possible, sit up top and in the right side. Your view won't be blocked and most every point of interest addressed is on the land which is on the left side of the boat.
Also, they do sell drinks, but have a complimentary special snack

We did a sunset cruise on our first night in Newport and it was amazing. Excellent service and the boat was clean. I'm not sure how they did it before, but they do assigned seating now so everyone is socially distanced. We were totally okay with it as there isn't a bad seat on the boat. There is a cash bar which has basics (wine, beer, some liquor, water bottles). The best part is you get a complimentary stuffed clam with each purchase which my husband really enjoyed. What a great experience!
We were looking for something to do in Newport for the day and this was such a great find. Our small dog was able to come with us. The pricing was great and there were drinks on board. We loved our narrator as well. Not only did we learn a thing or too, but wholeheartedly laughed and enjoyed!

This sunset evening cruise was great. Patrick, the tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and spoke clearly. We sat on the top deck and luckily had beautiful weather. We were able to get great views and photos of the harbor, yacht clubs, boats, homes and of course of the sunset. They serve drinks on the cruise as well and offer a complimentary champagne toast! Really nice tour!

We almost went with another company and SO glad we didn't! John aka "Roger" was a super host and MC! Full of jokes and historical knowledge and without him it would have been just another boat ride. The cruise itself takes you along a nice path and you get to see some cool mansions and even lighthouses. This was one if the highlights of our stay in Newport and I even came back with a few jokes i stole from John! Don't think about it, book it and enjoy!

Awesome tour around Newport. We've been on a tour with this company twice in the past 10 or so years and both were awesome. Great information about the area and friendly and funny tour guide. Nice that they give you a drink as well. Del's or milkshake! This time around the boat wasn't as full, which was nice since we had our 1 1/2 year old with us and weren't sure how he would do. He loved it!

My boyfriend and I decided to go on the Gansett cruise on our last day in Rhode Island.
What a perfect way to end the trip!!!
If you're in the area, I'd highly recommend checking this out!

I'll just cut to the chase, I would highly recommend a Gansett Sunset Cruise. Now that I've dispensed with the obvious, let me explain why. The staff was friendly and professional, the tour host was funny. There were some obviously corny jokes, but overall, he was very entertaining, he interacted with the audience, and he didn't take himself too seriously. There was so much information about the boats and yachts we passed that I couldn't take it all in, but it wasn't overwhelming. It's been five days since Romeo and I first set foot aboard our cruise of the waters surrounding Newport. We signed up to cruise with Gansett because they offered a 90 minute tour and ever since that infamous 3 hour tour we've erred on the safe side. We also figured that 90 minutes was long enough to get some sun without suffering severe sunburn on that lovely day but also wasn't so long that we'd want to jump overboard if the tour turned out to be terrible.

The best cruises offered in the Newport, RI area. I travel frequently, and I have extremely high standards. I was incredibly impressed with Gansett Cruises. The tour & information provided by Chris, was incredibly interesting and very well done. The ride is smooth and very professionally executed by the captain - we enjoyed every second. For $26 per person, a 1.5 hour guided tour on a beautiful boat with a knowledgeable guide - can't be beat! Highly recommend for couples, singles, families and children. I loved my boat ride with them and would definitely go once again! 5 Stars!
