North Shore Yacht Club
Greetings and Best Wishes for a Safe and Healthy year to all from the North Shore Yacht Club (NSYC)! The NSYC is in Commission for its 151st Year! We are the Club for people who love to sail! Or just email, or call us, and let us share how we approach, "Something for All" with 151 years of experience and remaining, "NSYC Strong."

Rich in history, the North Shore Yacht Club was established in 1871 as the New York Canoe Club. It is the oldest yacht club on Long Island and for people with and without a boat. Its fleet consists almost exclusively of sailboats, ranging from small one-designs to ocean-going vessels. We boast a diverse membership that includes experienced cruisers, blue water racers, and new sailors.
Services
Founded in 1871, North Shore Yacht Club is The Club for Sailors on Manhasset Bay. Rich in tradition, NSYC members join because they love to sail and they love to be with other sailors. Since 1959, the club has been located on the north shore of Manhasset Bay in Port Washington. It is completely protected on three sides, providing one of the safest, best sheltered anchorages in the Bay.
North Shore Yacht Club offers a full social calendar and is open to members year-round. Members are often found enjoying mutual camaraderie on the terrace overlooking Manhasset Bay, barbequing and enjoying libations as the sun sets. The club sponsors both racing and cruising events, offering a broad schedule of launch services, while member boats are moored in a well-protected area.
The Club has several guest moorings available. Our mooring field is well protected, spacious and quiet. NSYC maintains 2 launches providing a 7 day launch service schedule which accommodates early or late arrival or departure. Fuel and pump out facilities are available at a marina next to the Club.
The North Shore Yacht Club clubhouse maintains one central club room with a cathedral ceiling featuring windows on a large deck overlooking beautiful Manhasset Bay. This room can accommodate up to 75 people, and is available for rental by club members. Club rentals are available October through May, as well as weekdays in June, July, August and September (not available weekends during the summer season).
Founded in 1871, the North Shore Yacht Club is one of the two oldest yacht clubs on Long Island Sound and celebrated its 150th commissioning in 2020. Since 1933, the Club has been located on the north shore of Manhasset Bay with a splendid view while protected from most heavy blows. Originally the New York Canoe Club, it is among the foremost pioneers of yachting in America.

I am visiting Oostende tomorrow with my 82 year old father from Spain. I just called the RNSYC clubhouse/restaurant to ask if we could reserve a table for lunch tomorrow (as a non-sailor/visitor). I was hung up on. I initially thought I was disconnected, so I called again. I was hung up on again! As a non-sailor, I didn't even deserve a reasoned refusal! How disrespectful, rude and arrogant! I am shocked!
