Locally owned Mawson Lumber & Hardware has been serving the northern Colorado area since 1927. Lifelong Fort Collins resident Tom Moore has owned Mawson's since 1979 growing the business from the original location on Mountain Avenue to its current Linden Street facility. Mawson Lumber & Hardware serves custom home builders, remodelers, and homeowners with a broad selection of general building materials, windows and doors, trim, and hardware.
The original name is the R.L. Mawson Lumber Co. Founded in 1927 and operated by Earl Mawson out of Severance, CO. Mr. Mawson sold his first load of lumber, a car load, and grew the business to seven locations including the original in Severance, as well as locations in Fort Collins, Cheyenne, Loveland, Longmont, and two others in the area.

When you walk in to a Genuine hometown Hardware Store and everyone knows who you are, it’s what makes this place special. Mawson is for sure the place to go for all your lumber needs! The staff is incredibly helpful and goes above and beyond to get you what you need. Dylan Devore in particular was a total champion - unbelievably helpful (and PATIENT!) while we put together an order for a custom cut door. He made what would have been such a tedious hassle into a surprisingly pleasant and pain-free experience. Mawson also delivered my door for free which was so awesome. I don't know of anywhere else in town that will do that! Highly recommend!!

I went in to Mawson to get help with a bracket I needed for my builder. We weren't sure which one to buy, as we had not read our blueprints thoroughly. Rochelle was very patient and helpful and immediately found what I needed after I called the structural engineer, who immediately read the blueprint and told us what he had already told us. So great job Rochelle, bad job for us for not reading directions! But her patience and attention to my needs was above and beyond, as I am not a "regular." I will be now!

Came in with my remodeling plan and they estimated the amount of lumber I would need, and even broke it down by the best lengths of pressure treated wood to get. All of the lumber was packaged up and delivered to my home, for free, the next day. Ended up being cheaper than the big box store and the quality of lumber was very good. I used almost every piece. Excellent service and good prices. Would shop again.
