The Allen Ranch Campground. is a family friendly, back to nature campground. Now, plan your day trips and tour Custer State Park, National Monuments, the Mammoth Site, Bad Lands and more.
I love this place! It is a small campground with an upper and lower area. The lower sites are on a creek so you get the relaxing sound of the water to sleep to. The upper area has the biggest pull through sites I've ever seen. Surprisingly, even though it is next to a creek, there were almost no bugs which made being outside a pleasure.

Fun camp out - A group from a Colorado school used this place as base to explore the big attractions in the black hills. Camping was easy, bug free, and the food that they served was flavorful and filling to hungry teenagers. Warm creek water made for fun. Camp stories around the camp fire were fun.

This campground is very comfortable with easy access to the restroom and shower with hot water available. We especially loved the “comfortable camping feel” with shaded trees and the sound of the creek right outside our door. The owner is flexible and accommodating with a vast knowledge of the area events and sight-seeing activities. We enjoyed our week-long stay and will definitely try to return when we can. Thank you Joe for sharing your property with us.

A great little place, GORGEOUS scenery in the former pasture and hills behind the creek. We hiked a rough but doable trail and enjoyed a very nice breakfast. This was the end of Sturgis Week and the glamping tent was the most affordable bed for miles. We woke up to deer walking by the tent. We may only ever just pass through Hot Springs, but we will stay here any time!

Allen Ranch is one of those places you pull into wondering why it has 5 stars and by the time you leave, you completely get it! Could use a little updating, but the people running it and the guests are super nice. Showers are nice and 🔥 hot! We esp enjoyed meeting Tim, cook & all-around handyman. Going to try his recipe for Elderberry Rosehip & Echinacea tincture. Only recommendation is a light at entrance, esp at night. And maybe signage before entrance as gps says to pull in at neighbors entrance (go down road another 500') Thanks for a nice stay and great 🥞 breakfast!

Nice enough campground right off 385. There's a very clean creek behind for kids (and fun adults 😉) to play and tube in. Sites have water and electricity for $40/night for 2 people, plus $5 for each additional person. The bathhouse showers need updating and some trees trimmed, but otherwise this site worked well for us as a stopover to Wind Cave NP.

Read a lot of reviews about this place and everyone was right, these people are amazingly friendly and accommodating. We stayed in a tipi which has a beautiful view of the cliffside and lights up orange and red in the morning and evening. Tipi came with free breakfast, cots, bedding, towels and pillows. Tipis are large and spacious, as well as very private as the nearest people to us were probably 100ish feet away from us, blocked by brush and rocks. My spouse and I are both vegetarians and the individual making us breakfast in the morning was very accommodating to that; making us a meal without
