At times, it may become necessary to replace teeth. Our practice has 60 years of combined experience in all phases of implantology. Drs. Alan Fetner, Mary Hartigan, Michael Fetner, and Alex Fetner are a husband, wife, and sons team, and all board-certified periodontists. The practice was started in 1988 by Drs.
Dr. Michael Fetner has been a practicing periodontist since 2013. He studied at the University of Florida, Gainesville for his undergraduate, dental, and periodontal degrees. He received his board certification in periodontics in 2015. During his periodontal residency, he was elected chief resident in his third year of training.
Our X-rays are digital. Digital imaging has minimized patient radiation exposure up to 90% and has eliminated the need for use of toxic X-ray development chemicals and film. We want you to know that our number-one priority is your safety, so every product or instrument that touches you is either steam/pressure sterilized or fresh out of the package.
Our well-attended dental implant partnership is in its third year. We have monthly meetings in which we talk about planning, placing, and caring for implants in an informal lecture and hands-on forum.

At Fetner & Hartigan, we feel very blessed and have always felt compelled to "pay it forward" whenever we can. F you need a periodontist this is the office for you. I had to have a tooth extracted and prepared for an implant. I am a big chicken and Sharon the assistant was AMAZING! Dr. A. Fetter treated me 10+ years ago and then again on Wednesday. He is so gentle and kind and would not work on me until I was completely numb. I highly, highly, highly recommended tho office!

I was very scared coming in. I needed to take care of a deep cleaning and other issues with my gums 10 years ago. Due to another dentist office giving me the worst experience of my life, I tried to cure the problem on my own. As Covid came, was sent home to work. Eventually I worked up the courage thru my insurance to locate the best doctor. I found this place with amazing Yelp and google reviews. I came in today, the reception was super friendly, I have to give a shout out to Christie the hygienist, & Dr. Fetner. After seeking help from two dentist I was referred to Dr. Fetner and Hartigan, due to an issue with my gums and extra bone growth. I was horribly embarrassed at the appearance of the growths and had stopped smiling. At my first visit Dr. Fetner explained my issue and how he could help. At my next appointment Dr. Fetner performed the procedure to remove the extra bone and gum tissue. The procedure was quick and easy. The staff and Dr. Fetner were very compassionate, supportive, and knowledgeable throughout the whole process! I am still healing but already love my results! I’m so excited to start

I was referred to Dr Fetner by my dentist, Dr. Levin. I had been in excruciating pain for 3 days, so when I finally got to sit down in his chair and meet the staff, I was ready to get my tooth out! Since that day and the appointments since, it has been a great experience! The process for implants is a long one and I’ve enjoyed all his staff immensely! Dr Fetner explained every procedure and it was pretty much painless! He’s a GREAT Periodontist, definitely recommend him!

Even though I’m meticulous about taking care of my teeth, I nearly lost my front tooth due to an Invisilign treatment at another dentist’s office. The poor follow-up that accompanied that treatment resulted in a deep pocket around the tooth.
Fortunately, I was later referred to Dr. Alan Fetner and could not have hoped for a better experience. Even though the situation was grim, Dr. Fetner made it his mission to save my front tooth. From the first appointment in 2019 to the last visit in December 2020 the staff was courteous, organized , cheerful, and empathetic. Getting a dental implant can be really nerve wracking. I was unbelievably surprised the calming effect I experienced with the professionalism of the staff. The implant was my back molar which I can’t even tell anything is different. Dr Fetner, Jr. pulled one of my molars and then Dr Fetner, Sr.replaced the tooth with an implant and my general dentist put a crown on. Before starting the implant process Dr Fetner, Sr demonstrated with my X-ray the importance of accuracy in this procedure. My confidence was sealed right then. Dr. Fetner and his son both had an incredibly kind chair side manor and I had a gentle, pain free experience on all visits. My implant at my one year check up was perfect. It feels like a real tooth. Dr. Fetner and staff are awesome, always ensuring patient comfort and providing thorough explanations at each stage of the implant process. They are top-notch in excellent patient care and truly care about their patients. I like that they have different themes in the rooms which made the visit exciting and to take your mind off of the procedure that was being done. From when I made my first appointments to checking in and the whole surgery process to the very end of explaining everything was a wonderful experience. So yesterday was my final appointment for my crown lengthening. Sad that I won't see them again or at least until something wreaks it's ugly head! LOL Again, the absolute highest recommendation goes to Dr Fetner and his gang. They are awesome, off the charts! Know their stuff, listen, I can go on and on, but you get it! Oh and they take insurance and know how to file it!

Office is beautiful & very comfortable! Office staff was very friendly & very accomodating. Michelle was amazing and stayed with me through my entire procedure, kept me calm as I was very nervous about having a a tooth extracted. Dr Alex Fetner was the absolute best! He has a great sense of humour, very calm manner, extremely knowledgeable and so professional! He explained every step of what he was doing & I felt confident & in good hands! I was referred to Fetner & Hartigan by my dentist due to a concerning issue with a front tooth. I was so pleased by the degree of care and concern for my situation.
