I am really disappointed in this store. They are hiring knowingly unvaccinated people that DON’T wear masks. WTH?

They follow black customers around the store. Apparently they only want whites shopping there.

I really enjoy coming to this Ace. I could wander up and down the aisles of home decor for hours. They have a unique selection of home decor, which includes a great seasonal section. It is a tad pricey, but the quality can't be beat.

With the help of Karl, I found the painters tape and the lamp parts I needed, and was out the door a lot faster than if I had gone to the big box place.

Well organized, very knowledgeable and friendly staff, and they can duplicate almost any key you can think of. If you need a special key for your car, please go check here before you go anywhere.

The crew at Ace Hardware on Washtenaw Ave are always helpful to not just point to where you need to go, but they will take you directly to your item. They are also wonderful about helping carry heavy bags to my car, which I always appreciate.

Called half hour in advance for a product they confirmed to have 2 of. Even told me they would hold the product with my name and phone number. Drove 40 minutes to this location only for the store manager to say they didn’t have the product. Couldn’t even put a bundle together even when they had the individual parts together. Complete waste of time. Avoid this dumpster fire.

Just bought a new Weber grill replacing the one I bought 14 years ago from Ace on Stadium. Really trying my best to shop independent. I certainly appreciate their expertise and willingness to make a tight delivery on a historic BBQ focused holiday. Kevin and Mike made no promises to deliver but somehow they came through - delivered, assembled a new and picked up the old grill the day before my party. Doubt that you could get this type of service at a big box store. Ace is the place, on Stadium.

I went into this hardware store after several poor experiences at another local hardware store, and I was beyond impressed! I went in looking for paint and the paint I was looking for was be Sherwin Williams (touch-up paint), and an employee reached out to help. After I picked a paint, he re-approached me to make sure I picked the right one. When I showed him a photo of the can I had, which was Sherwin Williams, he mentioned how all paints are different and there's a Sherwin Williams next door. He said he didn't want to lose my business, but he wanted to make sure I got the right paint. That level

A really nice ACE. Parking in front is tight and small so not sure if there are more spaces in the back. The store was well stocked and the cashier was very friendly. Plus they had plenty of salt for these wintry days.

I had two very positive experiences both with the same young man but I didn't catch his name. The first was using an online purchase curbside pickup for WD-40 silicone to repair my treadmill in early December 2020. The young man was helpful, friendly and very courteous when finding my product and handling the transaction. I encountered him again recently (later in Dec 2020) when I came in to purchase a carbon monoxide detector as part of a home inspection. Although I arrived at the wrong Ace therefore the store didn't have my order, he went out of his way to help me find another product in the

This place is wonderful and my family has been loyal customers because there are some good people here and good prices BUT there is a major problem with some VERY RUDE employees who work here. I have had some horrible experiences with two very unhelpful and argumentative employees. An older grey haired man with glasses is very unpleasant and refuses to help us when we need assistance or have a concern. I am just appalled by his customer service and it makes us not want to ever come back to support this business. Beware of attitude problems here.

I've had good luck with the pain counter here, they sell Benjamin Moore paints & I've had good service. The associates are friendly & knowledgeable, they do a good job mixing the paint. Plus the location is pretty good, although the parking lot can be a bit difficult to get in & out of.

This is my store for kitchen goodies as well as hardware. It's where I go for napkins, place mats. I even bought my kitchen rug there. They have special ordered items for me and always been polite and helpful. The only problem is that I always discover something I didn't know I needed but now have to buy.

If nothing else, it is fun to browse housewares while you are picking up mousetraps or having a key made.

Ace has cheery and helpful employees who are knowledgeable of their stock. Be sure to check out the kitchen section - it has a ton of appliances, bakeware, and tools - more than a lot of kitchen stores, and more than ANY hardware store I've ever been to! And their Christmas displays rock!

This is a great locally owned place with VERY helpful employees. I came in looking for a specific painter's light lightbulb which I brought with me. Someone helped me match it and get the right one, told me what to be careful of (holding it a certain way) and even disposed of the old one for me! I was in and out of there in minutes and extremely impressed by their customer service! I would definitely go back!

This place is really a Pier One in disguise!

There was even a hostess ready to help you put together your perfect kitchen or patio! There are pots and pans, cute signs and decor, plates and silverware. Serious cooking supplies and table linens, even cookbooks. There was also patio areas and bathroom areas, etc.

The other side of the store is a traditional hardware store, but organized so neatly that it looked more like a catalog display. No sticky floors covered with paint, or guys treating you like a newbie because you can't explain what wrench you need.

Probably the best thing about the

An excellent mix of a proper hardware store, some good home furnishings, decent kitchen tools with some small appliances, and some basic garden material.

Definitely less resourceful, less impressively stocked, and far less of an experience than Stadium Hardware on the hardware front, but it's got enough other things to save me multiple trips to kitchen, garden, and home furnishing stores.

The staff varies widely --- the lady at the paint desk and the guys roaming the hardware section know their stuff well, but some of the checkout staff are almost painfully overwhelmed. On one recent visit

Barnes Ace Hardware has all the usual hardware store merchandise, but I like them best for their kitchen section, which is about one quarter of the floor space.

Now that Kitchen Port is gone, where else are you to buy trendy kitchen doo-dads? Barnes Ace Hardware has a lot of neat kitchen tools, dishes and glassware from simple to sophisticated, aprons and oven mitts and tea towels. Nice for kitchen-themed gifts.

There is a sizable section of paper plates and napkins, to dress up any party or picnic.

Whenever I need a key ring, key fob, key label or whatever -- they have the entire line of key

When I'm shopping on this side of town, I prefer Stadium Hardware, which is only a few blocks away, because it is more like a hardware store.

A trip to Ace Barnes is more like a trip to a department store, because they have kitchen ware, window dressings and gardening supplies. I avoid Downtown Home and Garden for the same reason.

Judging by the location, I think the owners have their minds set on selling decorative knick-knacks to Westsiders. (If you are, in fact, a Westside shopper, and you are looking for those things, you just found the place.)

Nevertheless, I suppose they do have
