Very nice place with good food and very nice staff. All the traditional food is fantastic, what could be hit or miss is the dim sum cart.
The cart has many many items that are very authentic and has many new tastes that you may not be use to but delicious. I noticed
that when I was there and every table was
Full in a place that is big that 70 percent
of the people eating there were Chinese,
That tells you something.

This place is for sure my favorite dim sum spot on Long Island. I always come with my parents and the waiters are typically so sweet! Sometimes they give us coconut jelly after dinner too as a little dessert with the bill My favorite dish is the pork rice noodle. A good dinner entree is also the seafood casserole. Sometimes I go two days in a row if I have the free time and am craving. I try to bring my friends here too and they always enjoy it hehe. The interior is pretty nice as well with some small traditional decor details everywhere you look.

Every, single, time I've eaten from Orient Odyssey, I've had a good experience. The food here is excellent, whether you order delivery or eat in/take out. Prices are reasonable and honestly worth it because the food is great. Consistency in good tasting food is the theme here for me! The staff is prompt and friendly, and there is more than enough parking outside.

Food is decent but extremely disappointed with terrible service experienced.

One of our dishes ordered was a fried salt-and-pepper squid. At my second piece, there were plenty of play-doh like clearly uncooked flour dough coming out from the squid (see attached picture).

Since the texture was gross, I asked a wait staff member there about what that is and whether it is edible. The answer I got was "Yes it is flour" ensued by silence. I then had to ask again "Is it edible? is it cooked?" since the teture felt really gross and it wasn't warm. The wait staff replied "

Came back for a weekday dinner. And wow they didn't disappoint. Ordered fried dumplings nice and big, chicken lettuce wrap with hoisin sauce delicious and tasty. For dinner ordered the shrimp with crispy walnut and the happy family which has shrimp, scallops, roast pork and chicken and vegetables. Everything came out fresh and hot. Nice size portions and plenty for leftovers. A great place for Asian food! Check it out!

We order 1/3 times a week at work. Food is always delicious. The staff is friendly and welcoming. They always have orders right and ready. Good old school food. The restaurant it self is on the older side but more like a old school Chinese restaurant.

Orient Odyssey has been doing real-deal Cantonese and Hong Kong style food for a long time, and it keeps getting better. Their dim sum is superb, especially their pork and shrimp shu mai (which are better than most I’ve had in China or Japan). Other favorites include the pea shoots with garlic, shrimp with ginger and scallion, and homemade tofu with mixed mushrooms (may be off menu, but they’ll make it if you ask). Truly excellent food and service!

Shopped too long at Ikea on a rainy day, so we decided to skip cooking and get takeout from Orient Odyssey.

First time trying this place, I am just pleased that some of the authentic Chinese dishes have Chinese on the menu, convenient to show it to elderly family members who feel more comfortable read Chinese. The restaurant is located in a shopping mall, easy to find parking; in case you wanna kill time while waiting for takeout orders, there are also Marshalls, Whole Foods, CVS and Starbucks in the same area.

The dim sum time probably ends at 3pm, unfortunately we just missed it, so we ordered

Placed a take out order and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. AN HOUR later the food wasn't ready and when it arrived - it was horrible
You'll have to search long and hard for the chicken in the chicken and broccoli
Never again

Very good dimsum and friendly staff. We live in Flushing and we are willing to drive 30 min in LIE traffic just to have dimsum here.

Probably more like 3.5, but I'll round it up since I don't know if any of the issues were caused by a 20 minute drive home.

Got 3 orders for takeout. Salt and pepper squid, salt and pepper porkchop and fish filet w/ bean curd casserole.

Im deducting 1 star because the website menu must be old. Each dish was almost $2 more than shown on the site.

Also, I wish they added holes in the top of the container for the squid. By the time I got it in the car, they were already soggy. At least the flavor was excellent. 3.5/5 (might be a 5/5 if eaten in the restaurant and is hot and crispy.

How to start … ?!
A modestly located place with EXCELLENT - Hong Kong style cuisine - worth a special visit from NYC just for the sake of taste! Another thing is the service ... I would give even 10 stars, but the program only provides 5 ... Excellent food, very large portions and the menu as wide as nowhere ...! ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDABLE PLACE !!!

Food was very tasty--There was no wait and they offer Soup Dumplings which very few Chinese restaurants have. The food was very filling, too.

Living in South Florida, it was a welcome change to get very good Chinese food.

Started with Wonton Soup, good except wonton are doughy and Egg Rolls, old fashioned kind, big and very good.

For mains, I tried the Szechuan Shrimp, large shrimp with pes pods, baby corn, peppers, broccoli, and mushrooms. Very good but not spicy.

My wife ordered the Sautéed Eggplant with Garlic Sauce which she really liked.

I ordered chow mein, they sent chop suey. When I called to tell them they got the order wrong they said it’s the same thing. If you’re only going to serve chop suey, fix the menu.

9 months in since my last review of this place and they still have not failed me. During Covid19 there isn't much options with home delivery but this place still hustling and you can tell by the owner himself always presence there watching over quality control. Try their Dim Sum menu for they are just as good compare to Flushing restaurants.

Food was great, if you like fingernails in it. Never coming here again. I'm sad bc the food was actually good but how the hell does a fingernail end up in food? I thought it was a shrimp shell but nope. It's a darn fingernail. Disgusting and filthy.

Food is very good overall however zero concern for coronavirus protocol and its patrons.

I was just there past weekend for Dim Sum and the row of tables to my left had two parties of 4 seated right next to each other, no partition and literally a foot apart from each other.

I mentioned to one of the employee there about the blatant disregard for "my" health and he looked at me with a dazed look, shrug his shoulder and went about his business. Nothing was done so I asked for the check immediately.

In closing, if you are Not afraid of dining in and certainly not afraid of coronavirus

My mom and I came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon.

It did take a while for them to seat us as they were very focused on take-out orders. When we did sit down we were given the lunch menu, which was quite limited. We asked for the regular menu which had a lot more options!

To start I had egg drop soup. Delicious. Wasn't overly salty and I was surprised to find a whole egg in the soup! What a unique twist.

For appetizers we ordered off the Dim Sum menu. Shrimp dumplings and pork shumai. Very yummy and generous portions of shrimp and pork in each dumpling.

We also shared soup dumplings
