Home insulation is an area that hasn't had many breakthrough technological advancements until the beginning of the 20th century. This is because insulating a home efficiently is not always an easy task. Fiberglass insulation has been the most popular product in the industry since it was invented in the 1930's.
If water is leaking through the roof there could be other issues contributing to this problem. Snow insulates an attic from the outdoors. Deep snow on a roof will hold in the heat loss in the attic and will begin to melt the bottom of the snow pile just above the shingles. When melting snow runs down the shingles and reaches a cold overhang it will begin to refreeze creating the "ice dam".
Air leakage can dramatically affect the R-value of certain insulations. Identifying trouble areas is extremely important to solving problems with insulation failures. As energy prices soar, building insulation quality becomes a pressing issue. A thermal imaging camera can identify patterns of heat loss that are invisible to the naked eye.
While fiberglass is not as efficient an insulation as sprayfoam, it can still make a difference when properly installed. The old way of thinking about fiberglass needs to be undone. Although R-value is important, the value we think we need to do the job of insulating is inaccurate. The scale of R-values is high because the loss of performance we experience when we need it most.

I have a crew of guys I send out on jobs and I know I love to hear when they do the right thing , that they do what’s expected of them and that they can build report with customers. We have worked with Scott at JAG several times regarding insulation on our home. The most recent was after a major disaster causing significant structural damage to our home. His professionalism is so appreciated especially since it is difficult to find in contractors these days. The quality of work and the professionalism of the workers was also exceptional! Used Jag to do spray foam for home addition and had them do a couple other areas including an attic storage space. Six years after application we were in storage space and saw issues that concerned us. Contacted Jag spoke to Mike, the owner, and he sent out people to evaluate. They agreed something had not gone right with this application in this area and sent out Kenny and Eddie to fix it properly. These two guys did a fantastic job - better than I hoped for. VERY happy with Jag for responding quickly and professionally and at no cost to us. Jag should be commended for standing by their work even

Jag Construction is a great company to have work performed on your residential house. They performed work up in my attic spaces where a lot of heat loss was occurring. And put me back on the schedule a a year-and-a-half after performing original construction to touch up a few places. I would highly recommend this company for anyone that is experiencing heat loss or can get any type of Grants through New York State or the city of Rochester. There management, general foreman and employees are top-notch.

Great company that does great work. I have had them do work at my house as well as my mothers and not only is the spray foam performing better than expected, the employees, installers were professional and extremely polite. I have had them do work at some of my customers as well now. 6 stars all the way.
