We've eaten here many times and always eat delicious food and have a wonderful time. Last night was no different. The atmosphere on the patio with a gentleman playing the Spanish guitar to the lights on the table all make it such a pleasant dining experience. Our waitress was attentive and friendly as are all the wait staff. The food was impeccable! Macadamia crusted snapper! Yummm! Mai tai was perfect!
We appreciated so much that all staff were wearing masks! Made us feel comfortable and safe! See you next time we're in Miami.

KEY LIME PIE 🥧 - that is enough to visit this place - delicious! Service was really good and the food was well prepared. Really enjoyed their Chilean Sea Bass - super good. Even their toasted (sliced) house bread with the butter and hummus that’s served is good. Plenty of seating inside and outside - probably suggest outside if the weather permits. The live music (at least on the weekends) is an extra bonus.

We absolutely loved Avalon. Three of us split crab cake, mussels, paella, and key lime pie. Everything was outstanding. Their key lime pie is hands down the best I've ever had. Lastly, our meal was made unforgettable by the great service provided by Marvin. His charismatic attitude made our dinner the best one we had in our short stay in Miami. I can't wait to go back.

My husband and I had a fabulous dinner here. The food was delicious, service by Marvin & Michael was outstanding. Our appetizers were artichoke & fish chowder; main courses were Chilean sea bass, tuna and a side of asparagus. The award-winning key lime pie tasted terrific. Although pricey, I highly recommend this restaurant. Dint miss it if you're in the area!

Just got a new job and wanted to celebrate with a nice lobster dinner. After doing some research (Yelp and Google reviews) I ended up on this spot since the reviews were solid and the menu had escargot (my favorite). I made reservations for Friday at 8pm and got there right on time and was seated.
The vibe was relaxing (even though they are right on south beach) and they had a guitarist playing live. The wait staff was attentive, and the food arrived in reasonable time. We had escargot to start (the olive oil was a little sour...I like to dip my bread in it I think some of the garlic was maybe

FIVE STARS. Let me start with the fact that we were going to the Rusty Pelican first. Last minute changed our minds to go to A Fish Called Avalon due to the menu because we wanted to try the octopus and seafood paella. We were seated on the patio and there was a live artist which was so great and made the atmosphere so fun (on a wednesday at that!) Alejandro was our server and gave us the best service we have had in a very long time. Was attentive and made sure we were enjoying every course even up until we ordered after dinner drinks (espresso martinis, SO GOOD HERE) and made sure they were exactly

If you follow me, you know I seek out great places to eat, because I HATE spending good money and time on average food and service. Anyhow, this little gem on the southern end of south beach in the vintage art deco hotel Avalon is worth your time and money. One of the great things about this restaurant is the staff. They are career professionals and have been there for years, not months. You can tell because their pride comes out in their work. Which in this case is the food and service.
Obviously by the name you can guess the fish is a hall mark. I warmed up with the tuna tartar, super fresh

I mean where do I even start? This place was absolutely fabulous! My fiance and I were staying at the Avalon hotel for a few nights for my birthday, he made reservations at A Fish Called Avalon for my main celebration. We were seated promptly it was a beautiful Miami evening with a wonderful ambiance. Live music had just begun, white table cloths and professional service. Our server's name was Marvin and he was superb! I had a lot of questions as we are from the west coast and used to the seafood options there. For an appetizer I wanted calamari, which they do not offer. Marvin recommended the

It's pretty solid and the location is nice. We had the scallop appetizer (very good) the chopped salad (fine) the risotto special (pretty good, large portion) and the miso chilean seabass (excellent). From what I understand, the seabass is their most popular dish so I guess it's not too surprising that it was great. Chilean seabass is one of the tastiest fish out there and as long as you don't overcook it, it'll be great. They easily cleared this bar and the miso broth and dumplings were a nice addition. We also got their key lime pie, which supposedly won some sort of award

Very good seafood in what is decidedly a very touristy area. I had the tuna tartare (delicious with an interesting spicy twist), clam chowder (very solid), and quite possibly the beat seafood risotto I have ever had. It was absolutely loaded with big chunks of seafood. There was possibly more seafood them there was risotto.
Two negatives that cost them a star. 1. Service was a touch slow. 2. The shell fish in the seafood risotto had some sand in it.
Overall. Fantastic. Worth coming back for sure.

The best Paella I've ever had. Was light yet filling. There was a variety of seafood in one huge plate. Well balanced and fresh bites. Highly recommended! Nice outdoor seating and live music. It was my birthday and the band sang for me and I received a complimentary chocolate cake (which was absolutely delicious).

When you think South Beach & Art Deco & a feeling that is reminiscent of the Roaring 20s, you would be hard pressed to find a more iconic fit than A Fish Called Avalon. Of course, the restaurant fronts the ocean (right on Ocean and 7th) with huge windows to take in the view.
The vibe is quietly understated elegance.
The food is superb. The freshest fish you will find anywhere, prepared creatively and perfectly.
We enjoyed the Sesame Seared Ahi as a starter. While a little pricey @ $36 - it melted in our mouths with huge flavors. Impeccable.
