I started teaching violin in 1980. This journey has been one of the most rewarding imaginable. Having both the honor and the responsibility of sharing my experience in music and violin playing is something that I take seriously. My teaching style combines tradition and innovation. I've accumulated a wealth of techniques and tactics that I use according to each student's needs, designing lessons that best support goals.

I do not believe in attachment or devotion to any single, traditional method. Students' goals and needs vary too much for this, and no single method offers all of the answers. My primary goal is to help my students to become superlatively competent and confident violinists, while inspiring them to become shameless artists and real human beings.

Michael's expertise and patience make learning and (even) practicing a joy. Hearing him play is wonderful.
