We have the expertise to guide you to a resolution of your family and immigration law problems. Both in and out of court our focus is on providing you with personalized attention so that you successfully achieve your goals. Our experience in the practices of family, immigration, and criminal law combined with our compassionate approach to your needs gives us a strategic edge in and out of court.

Families face many challenges. Divorce, custody battles, domestic violence, and juvenile offenses are among the most emotional issues to resolve.
Services
Since family and immigration legal matters are never as straightforward as they may seem, Hainer Porras LLC requests that you schedule an initial consultation for a preliminary case assessment. We offer in-person and telephonic consultations by appointment. We charge a $200 fee for a 45-minute to one-hour consultation.
If you suspect that anyone - including your current or former spouse or partner - is abusing or neglecting your child you must act quickly and assertively. In addition, your child is at risk whenever she or he is exposed to any domestic violence; or, if left in the care of someone who has been convicted of having abused or neglected any other child.
Legally adopted children have the same status as natural children in all aspects of the law, including support obligations and inheritance. The natural parents of the adopted child are no longer considered parents and the legal ties are cut. However, when your child is adopted by a step-parent (the new souse of one of the parents), that child is still entitled to inherit from the natural parent's estate.
Adultery is male/female sexual intercourse when at least one of the parties is married to someone else. Only the married party or parties can commit adultery. In Virginia, adultery is a class 4 misdemeanor, with a maximum penalty of a $250 fine. There is a one-year statute of limitations. Adultery can be used as a fault ground to obtain a divorce.
You do not need to be married or divorced to make a parenting plan or visitation schedule. Protect your rights and rights of your children.

If you can't reach an early compromise on the issues of custody (who has legal authority over the child and where does the child live), visitation (how often and under what conditions does the noncustodial parent spend time with the child), and child support (whether the noncustodial parent contributes anything to the costs of raising the child), you will have to submit your dispute to the court system.

My husband and I were incredibly fortunate to have Lesley as our lawyer. She guided us through the entire process, thoroughly and patiently answering all of our questions. We felt well prepared for each step along the way because of her. She is someone who obviously cares a great deal about her work and her clients. We are so appreciative for her help on our case, and would highly recommend her.

I meet Lesley as I was just getting ready to start the process of applying for a marriage visa to be reunited with my husband. She was honest from the beginning about what to expect and about the nature of the process. She was proactive when there were things that needed to be done and clear about the times that there was nothing to do by wait. Whenever there were bumps in the road, she stepped in to do what was necessary. I had tons of questions along the way and she answered all of them. As well, Lesley made sure that my husband felt comfortable and in the loop even from a distance. We are finally

I worked with Lesley on getting a permanent residency in the US (aka the green card). There are a lot of forms, supporting documentation, lots of other information to gather and she guided us through it quite smoothly. The process of applying for a green card can be stressful and full of uncertainty - Lesley was great, she knew exactly what she was doing and quickly gained our trust and confidence in her. It didn't take long and I got my green card.
I would recommend her in a heartbeat.

My mother had a lot of anxiety about her citizenship test, but she was much more comfortable with Karen being in the room, and she passed! Lesley and Karen did a great job of helping her feel confident and prepared before the interview.

We plan to continue working with Lesley in a future because of her professionalism, diligence and respectful attitude towards her clients and their time. She made an overwhelming process of applying for permanent residence easy and stress-free. I would and I will certainly recommend Lesley to anyone who needs help with regards to immigration issues.
