East Bay Acupuncture & Natural Medicine
Acupuncture and herbal therapy regulate hormones, support ovarian reserve and encourage regular ovulation. Studies also show treatments to be effective for fibroids, endometriosis and PCOS. If you are doing ART, we work closely with your reproductive endocrinologist during IUI and IVF cycles to deliver seamless and appropriate care, and are proudly board certified in reproductive medicine by ABORM.

Our acupuncturists have extensive postgraduate training and years of experience treating a wide range of acute and chronic pain, musculoskeletal and neurologic issues. Treatment plans will be discussed and may include acupuncture, dry-needling, electro-acupuncture, cupping and manual therapies like trigger point and Trager techniques.
Services
East Bay Acupuncture & Natural Medicine is an acupuncture clinic and herbal pharmacy founded by Sean Michael Hall, L.Ac. in 2007. We would love to work with you to develop a treatment plan that addresses your health concerns. Treatment plans usually include acupuncture and may also include related modalities like cupping, moxibustion, electro-acupuncture or manual therapy, depending on your preferences and needs.
Acupuncture and herbal therapy regulate hormones, support egg quality and ovarian reserve, and encourage regular ovulation. Studies also show treatments to be effective for fibroids, endometriosis, PCOS and many other reproductive health concerns. We are proudly board certified in reproductive medicine by the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM).
Acupuncture is safe and effective for many pregnancy-related issues like nausea, edema, hypertension and back pain, and in the first trimester it can decrease miscarriage rates. As the due date approaches, acupuncture helps prepare for labor, and moxibustion can help turn a baby in breech position.
Our acupuncturists have extensive training and years of experience treating a wide range of acute and chronic pain, musculoskeletal and neurologic issues. A one-year, post-graduate program at Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles with medical doctors including an orthopedic surgeon and anaesthesiologist strongly informs our treatment strategy.
Surgery, radiation and chemotherapy save lives, but those necessary interventions often lead to debilitating side effects. Acupuncture has been shown to reduce nausea, pain and lymphedema, as well as vasomotor symptoms, like hot flashes and night sweats, that often follow that care. Herbal and dietary therapies may also be recommended and support the vitality necessary for fighting and preventing cancer.

I have been coming to see Sean since 2016 for fertility treatment. I was able to have a healthy boy in 2017 :). I am grateful everyday. Even now, I regularly come in for “maintenance” due to on going back and shoulder pain due to minor injuries and such. I have gone to Orthopoedic surgeons, neurologists, PT, gotten multiple MRI’s and none helped me as much as Sean and Gabriella (who has since moved away). I highly recommend Sean for many different disciplines of acupuncture treatments. I love this place and hopefully will be able to come here for many years to come. I feel lucky to have found

It is hard to describe how wonderful it is to be practically free of pain from arthritic knees. And this is after only 4 visits. I can hardly wait until the end of my course of treatment. In addition Sean is so kind and gentle. Kudos also to Maria who is at the front desk.

I first started acupuncture & taking herbs here about a year and a half ago, primarily for infertility. The first thing I noticed was how my periods improved, so even if I never got pregnant, it still would have been worth it. However, after several months, I actually did get pregnant & just delivered a perfect baby girl! Having the support leading up to pregnancy & during was so helpful.

Sean is a terrific and very skilled acupuncturist! He is very professional, kind and helps to create a healing environment each and every time!

He has helped treat diffuse acute on chronic musculoskeletal pain using an acupuncture treatment technique called trigger point dry needling.

Dry needling is a great way to treat the source of pain directly within the muscle knot or trigger point itself. I really enjoy this style of acupuncture treatment and have found it to be very helpful in my recovery.

I am confident Sean will help you formulate a successful treatment plan too, by finding the acupuncture

3 years ago I got into a bike accident and landed on top of my head (was wearing a helmet otherwise things would have been a lot worse). As a result I have bulging discs along my cervical spine and living with chronic daily pain and discomfort with radiating pain into my hands. I tried epidurals, muscle relaxers, physical therapy. Nothing really worked. Getting through a day of computer work was excruciating, it was hard to be present at social gatherings and a lot of nights were sleepless. Until I started seeing Nadia weekly. I literally have gone from intolerable pain to none at all. She is incredibly

I've been going to East Bay Acupuncture for over a year now. I was new to acupuncture and Chinese herbs, having decided to try something new after years of anxiety and insomnia medications and talk therapy. I started going for a handful of reasons (insomnia, anxiety, depression, carpal tunnel, addiction, general aches and pains) but today, I am a different person with so much less anxiety and pain than when I first stepped through their doors. I believe a lot of that is due to EBA's services. Both Sean and Nadia are fantastic physical and emotional healers. They truly listen during every

I've been seeing Nadia Moredo at East Bay Acupuncture for over a year now and she's wonderful. Knowledgeable in her practice, thoughtful in her approach, and an extraordinarily caring and calming bedside manner. She has worked with me on a variety of issues and I've had great results. The entire practice is incredibly well-run and organized and it's a super peaceful clinic to visit. Highly recommended.

I have a lower back nerve pain issue. My neurologist recommended Sean Hall. I live in Vallejo so it is a 44 mile round trip. I sat up appointments with Maria at his Berkeley office. Injections and physical therapy did not help. Surgery is not an option. After 6 visits no pain, No bending over to walk. I will continue my treatments as necessary. Recommend you try Sean when acupuncture may be your solution.

After looking and looking for help with my hormones, (I had EXTREME PMS before my cycle began and was desperate), I have finally started to see some progress through doing acupuncture and herbs with Dr. Sean. I actually cried one month because it was that much better. I couldn't be more grateful. Dr. Sean's knowledge is extensive and I feel like I've only scratched the service of it. ALL of the support at East Bay Acupuncture is incredible, including Maria at the front desk. I go once a week now and it has become a healing ritual and sanctuary for me. Thank you!

As an acupuncturist and herbalist myself, I'm pretty picky about who I see and I feel like I've hit the jackpot with Sean! Truth be told, I don't really love getting acupuncture (weird, right?!) but Sean makes the experience relaxing and enjoyable! He's super knowledgeable- in both Eastern and Western medicine- and very thorough mixed perfectly with truly caring and compassionate. I've been seeing him for about a year now for a mix of ailments such as frozen shoulder, back pain, stress, and anxiety and I'm always impressed with and grateful for the results. Maria

I cannot recommend Sean and his practice highly enough. He is an excellent listener and has a gentle touch that I appreciated with the acupuncture needles. I saw Sean several years ago now for infertility reasons. He immediately helped me feel comfortable and heard given my situation. Within five months of working with him I was pregnant and carried the babies (yes, twins) to full term. I am so thankful to Sean and his team for helping me and my family!

Sean is the best acupuncturist I’ve ever had and I’m still seeing him regularly after more than eight years. Maria, his receptionist, is also terrific. Wonderful, healing and experience from the minute I walk in the door each time.

When you select how many stars to give a business here in Yelp, it says "woohoo! as good as it gets!" for the 5 star rating, at that sums up East Bay Acupuncture.

I was suffering from frozen shoulder for months. I'd never experienced chronic pain before, and it really was awful. I had tried physical therapy, without much success, and I was determined to avoid opiate painkillers. I had read that acupuncture can be effective for frozen shoulder, but I was too afraid to try.

After months of pain, I finally decided I had to try. My first appointment was with Gabriella, and she was

Last fall I found myself in quite a bit of lower back pain, which continued to be aggravated by sitting all day for work. After a month of hoping it would subside, I finally decided I needed help. Was happy to find Gabriela, who worked with me over the next three months to get me completely back to normal. She was patient, listened closely as I tried to describe the pain and seemed to know exactly where to place the needles to bring relief. As someone who had never dealt with long-term pain, giving myself time to heal was at time frustrating. But, I know it was helped along greatly by Gabriela

Sean and East Bay Acupuncture is the BEST! My wife started acupuncture with Sean and has gotten such positive results that I decided to try it. I have tried to commit to more wellness activities and had never received acupuncture before. I have known Sean through the community for a number of years but to see him as a practitioner felt so comfortable and he truly is a master at his craft. The office vibe is very relaxed and he has a wonderful bedside manner and level of attentiveness. I found Sean's clinic after researching acupuncturists that work with fertility issues on Yelp. This may be TMI, but I feel it's important in describing the full experience- I have had irregular periods for a couple years after coming off the pill. Once my husband and I decided that we'd start trying to have a baby, I felt completely out of control because I had no clue when I was ovulating. After about 6 months of actively trying, I decided to look into acupuncture. Since we weren't in any hurry, my goal was to regulate my periods first and foremost. From the moment I walked

I was diagnosed with MS in November of 2013 and am determined to stay away from pharmaceutical drugs at all costs. After consulting with Sean we came up with a plan to focus on strengthening my body in general and building up xi where there is deficiency through a course of acupuncture treatments and daily herbs. I have always used acupuncture as a resolution for short-term ailments and discomforts. My current condition dictates a longer term commitment.

From day one I have felt comfortable and confident with Sean's approach to care. He listens, he's curious, and responsive. Sean

For months, I'd been suffering from random cases of welts, itching, nagging cough/wheezing, and low energy. I decided to see a conventional MD, in which I was diagnosed with Dermatographia and told to take antihistamines to manage my symptoms. Oh and that cough? "You've developed a case of Asthma, purchase an air filter, check for mold." Dare I even mention low energy? I don't eat junk food, water/tea are my primary beverages, produce is the

I came to East Bay Acupuncture three weeks ago for help in dealing with excruciating lower back and hip pain caused by me over-working my 60 year-old back and ending up in the ER. Ouch! Pain pills and PT were not helping me much, so remembering that acupuncture had helped me with sciatica 30 years ago, I looked on YELP and gave Sean Michael Hall a call. Sean put me at ease immediately, and as a practitioner, is an excellent listener. No pun intended, he pinpointed the problem exactly, and his kind acupuncture treatments, heat lamps, cupping and well-considered advice are giving me much needed relief

As a newbie to the Chinese Traditional medicine, I was kind of skiddish when I first walked into East Bay Acupuncture. I found Sean when browsing through Yelp reviews and decided to give it a try. He really is how people describe him: patient, knowledgeable, flexible, accessible. He really listens, cares and is genuinely interested in helping you to stabilize physical health. I was also nervous about needles but I felt very comfortable with Sean. He is gentle and it seemed like his top priority was my comfort, especially when it came to needle points and warmth in the room. His office itself

I am a licensed acupuncturist who was seeing Sean to help get pregnant. At 41 I had suffered a miscarriage and knew I needed some support in conceiving and also carrying a baby to term. My primary care physician recommended Sean. I was struck my his professionalism and knowledge and instantly felt at ease. Sean worked with me to optimize my fertility, get pregnant and give birth to a beautiful healthy baby girl!
