Equinox Naturopathic Medicine

I started my career in environmental consulting after obtaining Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees. It was a rewarding career with a focus on assessing and remediating contaminated properties. It was during this time that I came to have an appreciation for the health effects of environmental toxins on our bodies.

At Equinox Naturopathic Medicine, our approach is to treat the imbalances in the individual person, not the collection of symptoms constituting the disease. Treating symptoms might make a person feel better in the short term but it usually does not address the underlying cause of the problem and does not allow for healing and lasting change.

Naturopathic doctors subscribe to a unique philosophy that believes the body has an innate ability to heal itself. This is illustrated by anyone who has cut their finger. When you cut yourself, your body knows to stop the bleeding, create a scab and build new skin. That same healing "instinct" exists throughout the entire body.

Naturopathic doctors are trained to serve as primary care doctors and, depending on jurisdiction, can provide full medical care including ordering labs and diagnostic imaging. Currently, 20 states (including California), the District of Columbia, as well as Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands license naturopathic doctors as primary care providers.

We use a variety of tools to assist patients in restoring physical, mental/emotional, and spiritual well-being. Clinical Nutrition - the foundation of any healing protocol, tailored to the individual patient's needs.

Biotherapeutic Drainage - a gentle form of detoxification that incorporates lifestyle elements, homeopathic remedies, botanical formulations and nutrients; all used synergistically to rid the body of accumulated toxins, a key factor in many chronic illnesses.Homeopathy - holistic form of medicine that uses dilute substances to create an energetic shift, allowing the body to self regulate and correct underlying imbalances.
