The dentists at Yang and Horsley Dentistry use this encounter to ensure your teeth and gums are thoroughly cleaned of plaque and tartar, and they also meticulously inspect your mouth for signs of current or future problems.
Up to one-third of adults suffer from a condition called bruxism, nocturnal teeth grinding. You may clench your jaw and grind your teeth during sleep without even realizing it. This unconscious habit causes wear on your teeth, puts you at risk for cracks and cavities, and can even contribute to temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder.
Crowns are one of the most common dental restorations, but many people mistakenly believe that crowns are just cosmetic. In fact, a crown can preserve your natural tooth and prevent the need for an extraction down the road. A crown will protect your tooth from further decay and also help to reinforce its structural integrity.
When decay first appears, a filling is necessary to halt the process. Filling a cavity helps prevent decay from spreading and threatening your entire tooth. Additionally, a filling will keep a localized area of decay from deepening and becoming painful. Made of composite resin, our tooth-colored fillings are still solid and durable, but they're a more aesthetic choice than amalgam fillings.

The Yangs and the Horsleys are the absolute best! Been going to their practice since it was located on Florence Blvd. Their advice on how to maintain good dental health in between 6-month checkups/cleanings has always been very positive ... never felt like I was being lectured. I have had many procedures done on these old choppers over the years -- root canal, bridge, tooth extractions, crowns -- and all the work has been impeccable.

This is the best dental office ever! Dr. Horsley explains everything and even shows you the xrays as he talks about your dental health. Dr. Julie checks your insurance and explains what is covered and when the coverage is available to use. The office is welcoming and they make sure your freedom from pain is their priority. I highly recommend this dental practice.

Best dentists in the state! I've gone to Yang and Horsley since I was a small kid - I would never consider going anywhere else (and now I drive an hour to come here)! The office team is so friendly and helpful and Dr. Phil is gentle, thorough and a great dentist! I highly recommend visiting Yang & Horsley for your next dentist appointment!
