RCRA or the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act is a federal environmental regulation implemented by Congress in 1976 that defines and governs the way certain wastes we produce are disposed of. Several pharmaceuticals with hazardous characteristics fall under the umbrella of this regulation; these characteristics are toxicity, flammability, reactivity, and corrosiveness.
