In 2008, John partnered with his sister Barbara Thornbury to become 4th generation owners of Congleton Lumber. Prior to the purchase, John served in a variety of management capacities in Thoroughbred Horse industry. He was a National Thoroughbred Insurance Underwriting and risk manager for several publicly traded companies.

Congleton Architectural offers a complete line of commercial doors, metal frames, hardware, and specialty products. Our professionals will work on your project from start to finish; including plan take-offs, delivery and material management through the completion of the project. We have supplied hospitals, office buildings, universities and retail outlets with quality products and committed service.

GREAT SERVICE! I'm an older guy, building a rolling storage cart for a fishing kayak. Daniel Wiese at Congleton gave me good advice, took my payment info over the phone, picked me out some really nice lumber, cut a 4x4 into four pieces for me at no charge, and even delivered the the lumber to my home so I'd not have to come into the store during Covid. Much appreciated! Will definitely do business with them again.

Really enjoy any experience with/at Congleton Lumber Company. Anyone of their employees that I have dealt with have been very professional and over the top in regards to customer service. The staff at Congleton are very knowledgeable about their products, and CLC carries an exceptional line of building materials. The delivery drivers are really helpful and even helped our crew carry the materials to the backyard for a recent porch project (including the Glulams!). We love working together with the staff here to design our projects, and they work hard to accommodate our design needs (and, at times, somewhat strange requests).

As a contractor for many years in Lexington, I have used Congleton Lumber as my source for my building materials, as well as for advice in in choosing the best products, and the best way in which to install them. That has lead to to long term relationships, even friendships, with all the team in the front office. It has always been a friendly place to go, and has always provided, in my opinion, the best building materials available.

Congleton Lumber is hands down the best place in town. Jim Smith was very knowledgeable about what I needed to complete my project. He helped me choose the correct lumber, dimensions and even made some cuts that I needed for my project. The best customer service experience I have had in years. I won't be going anywhere else for now on.
