Grant Park Packing
Grant Park Packing Co. opened in 1974. Located in the heart of Chicago's famous Fulton Street Market, we are one of the only businesses left in Chicago with a fully functioning pork packing plant, processing thousands of whole hogs daily. We provide the freshest pork products available in the Chicago area, earning Grant Park Packing the title of "Pork King of Chicago."

Although pork is our specialty, we provide a wide array of fine meat products including beef, lamb, goat, poultry, and other processed meats. Currently our most popular product is our homemade Italian sausage, produced, and packaged fresh on our premises and available in a variety of seasonings to fit your tastes and needs.
Services
Joe Maffei was a butcher in a small corner town butcher shop for many years before he founded Grant Park Packing in 1974. Well aware of the importance of providing individual attention and strong customer service to maintain a successful business, the Maffei's continue to emphasize the same values today as they did when Grant Park opened.
Along with our sister company, Pork King Packing, we process thousands of whole hogs daily, ensuring our customer of the finest quality pork products available. Our pigs are all Butcher hogs and range between 20 and 200 pounds each. Volume is never an issue with Grant Park Packing. All of our pork products can be packaged in poly bags or vacuum packed to extend the life of the product.
We look forward to hearing from you soon. On behalf of Grant Park Packing I would personally like to thank you for your interest in our fresh meat products. If you have any questions regarding this site or our Italian Sausage, Pork, Ground, Beef, or Poultry Products please feel free to call, email, or fax us, and I would pleased to personally answer your inquiries at my earliest convenience.
All of Grant Park's beef products are sold wholesale by the case and priced by the pound. Beef products generally come vacuum sealed from our suppliers, but Grant Park can re-process beef products on a cut to order basis. For the beef lovers, Grant Park makes a Hamburger Patty that will compliment any restaurant's menu.

Fast loading. 30mins for paperwork. No biggie. If you are picking up, get here before 5am and they will load you. After 7am they prioritize local restaurants. Then start loading again after 10am. Decent backing in space. Once backed half way you have space to pull forward into a drive way.

Best butcher store in this area. Fresh, great quality meat for even greater price. Open for public Saturday only, 6AM to 1 PM.

For truck drivers: great place to deliver to. In and out of the door in 15 minutes. No lumper fees. Everybody was very pleasant to talk to. It’s pretty tight getting in and out of the door as the dock door itself is inside a bay door, but I did it with a long nose KW. The surrounding streets are all posted no parking 6pm to 6am. I’d definitely come back here again.

Chicken breast for a dollar a pound? Why buy from a store when you can buy directly from the people who sell to the store? Truly awesome pricing for high-quality product.

Purchased pork shoulder, pork fat, casing, pork loin, and uncured bacon. The place is a little confusing when first walking in but the place is full of people and everyone is helpful. They do not cut large pieces down if you need smaller sizes so be prepared for alot of meat but in my case it was totally fine. They don't display all their cuts in the "retail" room but if you ask someone they will bring you what you need from the back. For example, we needed pork fat and they didn't have it in the main room but we're able to bring it out for us. Prices are not displayed

I've been meaning to check out the retail meat packing stores on and around fulton market and finally stumbled across this one.

i was peeping thru the glass door as i saw two men wrapping pigs of all sizes from my height, 5'8'' and smaller. each pig was hanging upside down on a moving rail on the ceiling. lol. what an interesting sight!
i love blood and gory things so if you can't handle things like this, don't even bother coming in.
anyway, the workers were very welcoming, gesturing me with their hands to come inside. they let me and my friend take pictures with

If you are looking for a clean, customer-oriented place with signs and so on, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for parts of the pig that most butchers dont have fresh (jowls, back fat, kidneys, etc.), this is one of the best places in Chicago to go to. They have every part of the pig you can imagine and at extremely low rates! The whole thing is an experience--you walk into a refrigerated hall with blood soaked floors and dozens of people are hurling pieces of pig around... its a dream.
So, if you're like me and want to make guanciale with jowls or cure a bunch of belly, or

This place is great! u can pick up whole pigs, lambs, goats you'll see em hanging from the meat hook when your walking the store. They specialize in pork, and if you are interested in making you own sausage they sell huge bags of unseasoned ground sausage pork + boxes of casing. I buy a lot of my steak here. Yesterday i picked up outer skirt steak for $2.70 a pound! When you buy beef here it comes vacuum sealed, and requires some more trimming when you get home, but it is well worth it. In the case of the outer skirt steak i picked up yesterday i grilled it with all the fat on no trimming
