It is my mission to reflect the beauty of families in meaningful family photography by listening to and observing your connections with each other and your surroundings to creating an unforgettable experience to be preserved on the walls of your home. Printed family portraits are the only way to be certain that there will be family photos passed down to the next generation.

This is why I focus on creating prints and not just digital files. All of my sessions come with both an album or / and printed framed art piece to be displayed in your home. There are many wonderful location around Minneapolis and St Paul to take family photography, here are some of my favorite locations I recommend.
Services
Being prepared can help alleviate stress, so let me tell you about what you can expect through the process of the portrait experience. The process starts with your free consultation. This happens prior to setting a date, picking a location, and signing a contract.

This is a casual meeting at your home or a local coffee shop to give us chance to get to know one another and decide if we are a good fit to create your perfect family portraits to be enjoyed for generations. We will spend some time to get to know each other, discuses interests and family. We will talk about your intent and desired uses of the portraits will be and how we can best capture the images to fit those needs.
I have an old photo of my grandfather from when he was in the army sitting on my dresser where I can see it every day. I also had a photo of him three days before he died that I took on my cell phone. I don't know if I still have that last photo of him, it may be on my server with thousands of other photos my wife and I have taken, or it may still be on my old cellphone that has not worked for years.
Ritter Farm Park is in ideal family portrait location with its winding, well-groomed trails. While wandering the trails, this park offers many ideal settings to stop for a photo. This is a fun location with its pavilion, perfect St. Paul Skyline view, and Mississippi River shoreline. This is a great couple and family portrait location.
Dress for the season and location - Think about the season and the weather. It is hard to look good if you are uncomfortable and either too warm or too cold. Think about the style of the location-is it formal or casual, neutral colors or bold colors? Go classic - Avoid trendy outfits, the portraits will look better on the wall 10 years form now if the style is timeless and does not date the photo.
Yes, I offer weekend sessions because I understand that weekends are often the most convenient time. First, I recommend coordinating the clothes by picking one outfit then choosing others to complement the first. Solid colors work the best. Once you have chosen the first outfit, chose outfits for additional family members that are all the same color, or outfits that match intensity of color (all pastels, bright colors, or neutral colors).
