Cremating at the optimum temperature, the average weighted remains takes 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Several more hours may be required before the cremated remains are available to the family. It is essential that pacemakers and other medical devices be removed prior to cremation. They may explode when subjected to high temperature, which can be hazardous to crematory staff and equipment.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) furnishes upon request, at no charge to the applicant, a Government headstone or marker for the unmarked grave of any deceased eligible veteran in any cemetery around the world, regardless of their date of death. When the grave is already marked, applicants will have the option to apply for either a traditional headstone or marker, or a new device (available spring 2009).

They were very kind and helpful throughout the process with father back in 2017.
They were very understanding given the circumstances. I was not experienced at all this was my very first time having to do a cremation on my own. Mike walked me through every step .
I was lost and still in shock didn't want to do much of anything when Mike called and said quote " Daddy is ready to be picked up "
For me that said a lot. Actually put a smile on my face .

Now I am in the middle of a planning the cremation for my last brother.
It is a bit harder this go around but I have

Cremation Service of Atlanta is one of the best companies I have ever had the experience of dealing with. Very professional, competent and helpful.
They have gone out of their way to assist us and inform us through the entire process of taking care of my sons remains.
They treated us with respect and were always there to answer our questions. They did what they said they would do and when they said they would do it. I cannot recommend them high enough.

We had to cremate a loved one. I really agonized over the decision because we had always had funerals in my family but our budget was very limited. Mike and his staff treated us like family. It's an extremely professional, calm environment which we needed during that time. There was a comfortable, tastefully appointed conference room where Mike went over several different packages to find one to meet our needs. It's very obvious that it's not just a business to him.

This is not something I typically do but after the service I received from Mike and all of the staff at Cremation Service of Atlanta I feel others should know when making a decision whether they should use them. I don't think I can say enough about the amazing service I received from them from the time I began my search, to the time I picked my dad up. I am a customer service person and they definitely delivered GREAT service. The process isn't completely done because of paperwork that needs to be filed but I there's no doubt in my mind I'll continue to receive the same service. On top of the service
