Carlos & Son Upholstery is a family owned and operated upholstery business in Sarasota, FL. They have been in business in Sarasota for over 38 years specializing in quality custom upholstery work. Owners, Carlos and Delfa Alvarez, started in the upholstery business in Dubuque, Iowa in 1965. The Alvarez family moved to Sarasota in 1970 and began working for the late Robert Pufahl of Bob's Interior's in downtown Sarasota.

Now THIS is an upholstery shop. Fabrics and cushions everywhere. People in the back working hard. Victor, the boss, knows his stuff. No pressure tactics ... I'll do my best to do business with them. Good stuff!

Very friendly and willing to hurry it up if necessary. I was on vacation in Florida and only had a few days to get a chair seat reupholstered and after I removed the seat I took it to Carlos & Son and they repaired it within 24 hours. Very happy with these guys and will use them again!

Hands down,
some of the most eloquent labor I’ve seen really go into a furniture. Actually I gave them three grand style antique chairs: 1. 1930, 2. 1950, and my favorite the modern antique from 3. 1940’s. These items I’ve been holding on for so long have now been completed.
Thank you for your honesty, hospitality, and refreshing responsibility. The items were going to be delayed. He callEd me as soon as he knew. I was then given all the information.

Tickled pink with the professionalism and quality of the work. Much better price than offered elsewhere and no loss in quality. I needed 6" cushions replaced in the seats of a weird, European-styled, curvy sectional. Not an easy challenge. I completely recommend.

I was thinking of buying a new sofa but liked what I had. I purchased the fabric from a local fabric store and took it to Victor at Carlos. They did a great job and their attention to detail was perfect. Also had them do our dining room chairs.
