Services
We also produce functional woodturnings, such as serving bowls and rolling pins, as well as creating unique sculptural turnings that really command attention. GRWW frequently has requests for various types of cabinetry. We make custom built-in casework and cabinetry, emphasizing unique woods and products that give the finished product a look all its own.

We Hired Matthew to design and build the Altar furnishings for our church. Having done a nation wide search for this service, we came up empty. It wasn’t until it occurred to us that some of the finest furniture ever made came out of Grand Rapids Michigan.
My conversations and visits with Matthew were amazing. He clearly understood our vision. The end result was beautiful. The craftsmanship and finish couldn’t have been better.

I paid Matthew Hutchinson, owner of Grand Rapids Woodworking a deposit of $750 three months ago (08/19) for a project that should have been completed the first week of 09/19. Matthew has not returned any of my calls since and has not completed the project. I do not recommend working with him and will be pursuing legal action.

I commissioned Matt to make a piece for someone else, a part for an antique spinning wheel. A day after meeting with him and describing how the piece should be integrated into the rest of the wheel I realized that I had made a mistake in the description. I contacted him to make those changes but the piece had already been finished. He ended up having to make the order again as the first was unusable however he was very understanding about the whole thing and even offered a discount for the second round of work. I found him to be very reasonable all around, communications were always returned quickly

Hired Matt at GRWW to transform a bare cargo trailer into an elegant customer space for our road shows. The craftsmanship, finish and feel of the final product was stellar.
