The Splinter Group began in 2000 after branching off (splintering, if you will) from Disney-owned Mammoth Records. After working together at the record label for twelve years as GM and Creative Director, respectively, Steve Balcom and Lane Wurster decided to get into a more honest line of work - advertising.
Our idea was to take what we had learned about branding and marketing music products and offer it to businesses and organizations that were interested in a more creative marketing approach. Nineteen years on, The Splinter Group has stayed true to its mission and has earned a reputation as one of the most agile, creative shops around.

Start with Lane and Steve who have lived a community lifestyle while in school and their jobs throughout their education. Perfect gentlemen, and a strong staff to follow your direction for advertising, marketing and projects internationally.

Just five stars? Where's the infinity stars option? Splinter has been with me every step up the way in building my business, they listened to my goals and needs, helped hone my vision, and offered their expertise when I needed more direction. Hands down the best design and marketing firm in the Triangle. I've worked with Lane and Steve a number of times over the years and I'm constantly blown away by their creativity and vision. If you're looking for sharp, clever and absolutely original design, you really cannot do better than The Splinter Group.
