With a DIY and punk ethic, we put everything into our little shop to show veganism as accessible, fun, and delicious, while promoting animal rights ethics and community building. We soon found ourselves needing more space, so in 2007, we moved into a building on SE Stark and 12th Avenue and doubled in size. With our new, vegan business friends in the same building, Sweetpea Baking Company, Herbivore Clothing Company, and Scapegoat Tattoo, we all established ourselves as a Portland vegan, small business team.
Services
Here's our attempt at a handy guide to veg*n stuff in Portland and surrounding. We didn't list hours of operation for most places because a lot of them change a lot (especially food carts). There are other good veg guides online brought to you by Northwest VEG, Try Vegan PDX, and Food Mountain. Check 'em all out.
Since we began, a lot has changed in Portland and with veganism, some positive and some negative, but Food Fight! still continues to try and put our beliefs and punk business ethics (whatever that means anymore) in the forefront. As we've evolved, we've become more aware for the need for intersectionality within the vegan movement.

Everyone knows food fight is the best place to stock up on vegan goodies. the selection here is unbeatable. i always look for staff picks, because the old school vegans definitely know whats up ;) if you cant make it here for regular shopping trips, consider going before special trips to the coast or camping at hood and roll up to your destination with theeeee best snacks.

Food fight is amazing, although a small store its packed with so many wonderful vegan options. They also include locally made items in their store which is wonderful. The people who work there are always super friendly and helpful, even when you show up ten minutes before closing. Highly recommend this place for anyone vegan or those who want to try vegan foods.

I love this place. I stopped by on the way to work one day and now it is my favorite place to go. I get yummy treats and snacks to take to work. They always remember me and that I am GF as well. I couldn't find Vegan/GF black licorice anywhere and they put it on their order!! They also sell great soap that my daughters love. Thank you Food Fight for for making shopping fun and a pleasant experience.

All Vegan grocery store! Come here for all your vegan indulgent food needs! The best jerky (Sams is my favorite), vegan cheeses, Leahey mac n cheese, fun frozen goods, supplements, sweet treats, and my essential Hurraw lip balm. My only complaint is they are often out of what I need so since I live out of town I need to start calling first.

The famous vegan store is excellent just as you'd imagine!! Here no need to check labels for whether or not it's vegan, since everything is vegan at Food Fight! It's a pleasure shopping there and I always discover something new. Plus, the staff is super friendly too! It's also a great place to find gift ideas 💡

Vegan Trailblazers.
These guys are the OG vegan pioneers of the PNW.
I have followed them from their first store on SE 42nd and Caruthers.
Back then, it was early on in my journey towards becoming 100% veganized, and I'd buy things like Stonewall's Jerquee and Kombucha. Nowadays, it's a way of life for me.
I'm so happy they opened this store out east!
They do the serious homework on cruelty-free products, so we don't have to.
Some of things they offer:
Pet food
Household cleaners
Chocolate
A small produce section
SANDWICHES
Chips
Uncle Eddie's cookies

Oh, gosh. I hate to give them only 3 stars, but I have to because it's a smaller selection than I'd like, and the prices are just too high for me to justify shopping here on a regular basis. One of the first things I noticed was a packaged Indian meal for nearly $4, when I get literally the exact same thing in a pack of 8 at Costco for $11. Their selection is alright, but consists mostly of packaged/canned and "junk" type vegan foods, all marked up quite a bit. I arrived famished, so I ended up getting a prepared packaged BBQ "pulled pork" sandwich from the refrigerator

The staff is super friendly and will answer any question that you may have. This location is right next to a great coffee bar and excellent vegan Mexican food truck.

Saw reviews that this was the place for vegan junk food heaven. It's quite small and didn't have a lot of what I was looking for. We were from out of town and was hoping to see frozen fried pickles, mozzarella sticks, cheese sauces, white chocolate, etc. It is probably very nice for a local neighborhood market for vegans, but I wouldn't choose to travel here again when there's vegan items in every grocery store.

Thank you thank you thank you for coming so far East. It's a vegan-unfriendly wasteland out here. The closest Whole Foods or New Seasons is more than 6 miles away. It's awesome having all my animal-free favorites just a couple miles up the road. The store is small but packed with great selections of dry goods, frozen food, and products for cleaning, pet care, and personal grooming. I love discovering new things. Some of my new discoveries include Viana sausage sticks and Gopal's Power Wraps energy sticks.that are perfect for snacking at work. The staff are very friendly and always

So happy that Food Fight opened up a new location closer to home. This one has everything we used to drive across town for and even some of the same friendly faces. If you haven't been to Food Fight, it is an all vegan grocery store full of hard-to-find and delicious vegan snacks. I think of it more as a snack food place than a health food place but that largely reflects my own eating habits because they have lots of straight up health food too. They also have a good selection of gluten free items and vegan non-food items such as various hygiene and self-care products and cleaning products

Amazing grocery store, great for vegans and non-vegans alike! My husband loves coming here to pick up dessert because of his dairy allergies. They have a great selection of dairy free ice creams and treats. The store is very clean and has a beautiful wood beamed ceiling with industrial lighting. Can't wait for the coffee shop next door to open and the neighborhood park that will be built nearby. This will be our new hang out spot!
