Studio X is “simply the best”! I’ve been a member for 5 years now and it would be tough to find a gym that puts more effort into the client experience than Tim and Dean do on a daily basis. We’ve very much appreciated the virtual workouts during Covid and are so happy that they’re slowly rolling out in person classes now! The Covid measures are so thoughtful and they specifically ensure that everyone feels comfortable which I appreciate so much. The trainers are all incredible and the group classes are always challenging yet accessible with a ton of variety, but the structure is familiar

Love this gym! The trainers are all absolutely amazing and so motivating. I appreciate the live virtual classes offered during COVID because I am one of those people that needs external accountability, and if I sign up for a live class, I’ll actually commit and go. Can’t wait for in-person classes again. (Get vaccinated everyone!)

I'm currently doing THE CHALLENGE, and I am loving it. The live zoom classes may not be conveniently scheduled, but they are recorded and made available for me to watch at a time that is convenient for me. The program has been well-planned, though the execution has lacked a smooth start due to small communication and technical issues. The trainers are the best part of this experience. They are some of the most enthusiastic and lively individuals I have ever met. Even through the recording, their personality is magnetic and contagious. I would point, though, that the guys are more difficult

The trainers are great, the workouts have a lot of variety. As the classes are online at the moment, the trainers are doing a good job of providing alternate exercises for people who have some weights, don't have weights, etc.
Now that we aren't onsite (which I appreciate that Studio X has prioritized safety for the trainers and members over $$) and our transitions can be shorter at home between sets, it's kind of nice the classes only take 50 min.
The e-centric workouts that use slow movements or holds that Paulie has been doing on Fridays are the bomb! They make it possible for those of us

StudioX instructors are so welcoming and encouraging -- and all of them offer a wide variety of challenging (sometimes very challenging) workouts. I'm especially grateful for the live online classes. Being able to get a good workout at home is helping me stay sane during these months of social distancing!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about StudioX. I came here looking for a fresh start after a few years without working out. I'm so picky when it comes to finding a gym but I feel so comfortable at StudioX. I was lucky to find Veronica and training with her has been fantastic. She has worked with me to figure out a way of training that works best for me and it's been such a great experience. I highly recommend Veronica and StudioX to anyone looking for a judgement-free, fun and welcoming neighborhood gym.

Been at Studio X for a while now, and this review is long overdue.

1. Kind, friendly staff that are the kind of people that you WANT to chat with before and after class.
2. Knowledgeable trainers (honestly, the best in Portland, in my opinion) who are incredibly attentive to detail, and FUN.
3. Cleanest and most organized gym in the city, hands down. Come see it for yourself. It's a beaut.
4. Clean towels always available.

One of my favorite gyms in South East Portland that's hidden away, I didn't want to let out the secret and share, but here goes it! It's tucked away on the street that you might have to do a double take when walking past. There's a little sign hanging outside an all black exterior of the building right next to Baby Doll Pizza. Parking can be a tad tricky during the time of day, so make sure to give yourself enough time to make it in! Early mornings and late evenings I find street parking most easily.

StudioX is my favorite gym. I discovered it via ClassPass and was automatically hooked (despite the fact that I wasn't looking to join another gym). The atmosphere is very cool and unlike any other gym. All the classes are challenging and often fun. The culture is awesome, and there is no unnecessary pressure to sign up for personal training or a membership, when you first try out the gym. The owner Tim, is extremely dedicated to his job and maintains a clean environment. The instructors are all personable and comfortable to work with. They work to remember your name and will give you feedback

I have been consistently going to StudioX since my last review and wanted to give an update:
I want to reiterate that I started working out for the first time since high school when I started here so I really was starting at the very beginning when I walked in the door. I had never done a squat and didn't know the name of most of the exercises.
I am so thankful for the atmosphere of StudioX. They have been very patient and attentive teachers, even in their larger classes, and have made sure I am safe and have good form when doing any of the exercises.

As an avid boot camper, it didn't feel right to go on a vacation without getting my sweat on. Again, Yelp saves my day. From the hotel I was staying, it was only going to be a 20 minute walk (pretty much my warm up).
StudioX Fitness was relatively easy to find. Inside they have this pretty cool wall with formulas and equations that I didn't quite understand, but very cool to look at. The gym itself is smaller than what I imagined it to be. For the group session, the space was smaller than I was used to. However, it was packed with all the equipment you needed.

NOTHING comes close to this gym. The owner, Tim is the most dedicated business owner I've met and truly cares about his clients. He requests feedback to assess how his trainers are doing and hires them based on our likes and dislikes, not his own.
The place is SPOTLESS. I've been to many a gym where the floor has not been cleaned in weeks. It doesn't make me want to do pushups! This place gets cleaned daily and you can tell.
They also just opened up a much larger space (same building) so it's very spacious with lots of room for warm-ups, sprints, etc.
My body as definitely

Previously, I had been attending boot camp in Seattle, and thought I was getting an extremely good workout; however, after my first few sessions at StudioX, I realized I had much room for improvement.
I'm 32, I love cats (real men love cats), and consider myself to be pretty fit, but I have nearly come to tears, and boot camp-induced vomiting while working out here. You will be a shell of yourself after some classes, or maybe that's just me; however, I always come back stronger, faster, and smarter. Seriously, my IQ has increased I believe, although, not proven, and I've gained

StudioX Fitness is an amazing gym. The owner, Tim Irwin, keeps the place spotless and the equipment up-to-date and in good working order. The trainers are friendly, encouraging, and experienced working with varying skill levels. Tim is constantly adding new kinds of classes to keep things fresh.
I started out as a terrified newbie to regular working out at age 53, but the trainers immediately made me feel welcome. I'm stronger than I've ever been, and actually look forward to working out. Looking for a low key, warm, friendly gym in SE? Give StudioX a try!

I was a member at StudioX for the past 8 months, and for someone who never enjoyed working out and was intimidated by group fitness in general, I really loved going to StudioX. The facilities are clean, the workouts are fun and dynamic, and the instructors are positive yet know how to challenge you in all of the right ways. Some of my favorite instructors there are Christina, Justin and Tim Wilson, but you can't really go wrong with any of the instructors there.
Unfortunately I had to stop my membership and switch to drop in classes instead, but I can bet that there is no better gym in Portland

Alright... After a hiatus, I came back to this place. And I love it more this time around.
The classes are still great. The instructors are still amazing. Yes, I still get intimidated by the strength and stamina of some of my fellow classmates. But that's ok--i am seeing my own progress as well--and that's what matters.
In 6 weeks (!!!) without changing my diet--in fact eating worse--I have lost 8% body fat. My endurance has gotten so much better. And my upper body strength has dramatically improved.
But what really takes the cake is the amazing personal training sessions. (Although
