Thirteen years ago I left Apple to open a repair shop called Screwbox on Tampa Street in downtown Tampa. My goal was to provide a more personalized approach to computer repair.

Steve is the best. Called him regarding an emergency I was having with my iMac. I was able to bring the computer over within the hour, get the diagnosis, identify the fix (faulty HD), and have the part replaced, data moved/transferred, screen sealed/cured within a day and a half. Second time I've used Steve. True professional, knows exactly what he's doing, and lucky to have him here in the South Tampa area. 6/5 stars. - Paul Hemmick

Steve gets all the stars. I was in a pinch with a dying hard drive on a desktop Mac and Steve saved the day. He pulled my old data out of the corrupt hard drive with alot more expertise than I could have mustered, then transferred the data onto a new solid-state hard drive which he installed. He was in contact with me via text while he was working on it and was great with communication throughout the process. His prices were clear and reasonable. Overall a great experience!

Easiest and fastest computer repair ever. Steve contacted me the same day I reached out to him. At my request, he came by the next day, diagnosed the problem, gave me a quote, took my iMac with him to replace the hard drive and brought it back on time the next day. (Actually he arrived 10 minutes early!) He's a pleasure to work with, and all his years of experience means he really knows his stuff. I'm happy to have found a great IT guy here in Tampa!

My MacBook Air would not turn on. I thought it might be the cord so I got another replacement cord that also did not work. Called around and heard well maybe the switch maybe the battery and I could get everything fixed and add new storage and I could basically have a new computer.

I believe this to be an honest company. I trust them and if I have an issue in the future, they will be the first person I call. I would recommend them. I got a fast text back and a link to an Apple warranty program that I didn't even know about. This guy could have easily charged me to take a look at my compute but he was honest and God bless him because times are hard.

After I spilled water on my MacBook, I called Steve to have him take a look at it. I wanted to make sure there was no water damage before using it again. Moments after opening it up he said there was no signs of damage and even showed me how he could tell. I did ask him to replace my battery as its' life was starting to get short. No issues at all and the battery is working great. Steve is very professional, honest, and the in-home visits are very convenient. I hope to never have issues with my MacBook again but if I do, I'll be calling Steve again for sure.

Couldn’t be more pleased. Steve really saved me last weekend when my MacBook Air started acting funny and then wouldn’t boot up. He went out of his way to help me on a Saturday and was able to quickly isolate the problems. He could have fixed them, but we determined that it would be more cost effective for me to upgrade to a newer model. He was able to preserve all of my data and programs for installation onto the new laptop. Awesome service and a pleasure to work with!

Pros: Timely in responding to emails and arriving at the scheduled time; personable, friendly; responsible (especially in regards to COVID–he told me he doesn't go anywhere without his mask, maintained about 6 feet of distance between us); speedy (he took maybe 20-30 minutes to replace my Mac's battery when he came by); affordable–an Apple store will tell you to buy a whole new computer, but he worked his magic and now my battery's good to go.

I took my 2010 27 inch iMac to Steve a couple of years ago for a dark screen. Turned out to be the inverter board. Probably from a power surge...He fixed that up nicely.
Also, Apple had said that I could not upgrade my 256SState HD or my 2terrabyte reg drive...
Steve said sure I can! Steve installed a 2TB Solid State Drive and a 4TB regular drive for me! Still runs great with tons of internal memory! 6TB!
Two ram cards recently stopped working. He took the time over the phone to help me order a couple new cards that I just self installed at home successfully.

My laptop would last 20 minutes on a charge, if that. I briefly thought about trying to change it myself until I looked at YouTube and saw how complicated it was. So I asked for pricing from several places. Only Steve asked for my serial number so he could see what computer I had before giving me a quote. Shortly afterwards, he sent a quote... which hurt, but if you're an Apple owner, you know it's going to. It hurt, but it was also fair and reasonable. I didn't wait for the other quotes. I don't write reviews often because I feel bad for giving anything less than 5 stars. But Steve really deserve 5 stars.
On Wednesday at around 1pm, I found out that my Macbook Pro screen had shattered. Within 10 minutes, I was able to call Screwbox and Steve gave me a reasonable quote and told me he could fix it by Thursday, or by the latest, Friday, if I brought it to him in an hour. My schedule for Thursday was busy, so I told him it was okay if he didn't fix it by the next day. Before 12pm on Friday, Steve called me to tell me that my Macbook was fixed.
I'm so grateful that
