Silicon Valley Comfort

Our furnace suddenly stopped working only a few days into the cold season. Since our home is over 50 years old and the furnace looks just as old so we decided to replace it straight away without bother with repairing it. John came out to give us an estimate. Because we also plan to install AC and either clean the existing ductwork underneath the house or installing new ductwork in the attic, there are a lot to think about. John was thorough in explaining the various options available to us and patiently answered our questions.

Best of all, before leaving John wanted to look at the furnace problem. I was reluctant because it was going to be replaced soon anyway but John insisted on giving us heat and doing it free of charge. And amazingly in just about 5 minutes John located and fixed the problem and got our old furnace running again. Highly recommended.

Our AC quit running on day one of an intense heat wave, and SVC was willing to fit us in on their very busy day and evening and, as it turned out, night. They immediately diagnosed the problem, and John was efficient and professional and knowledgeable and had us cooled down again in 30 minutes. They are certainly willing to go "above and beyond, " and I would definitely recommend this company.

I really appreciated a few things about John and Nina's service: they were able to add me to their schedule the same day, they kept me informed when the job before mine was going long, when they did arrive they gave my problems their full attention and stayed until they were happy with the finished result even though it was Friday night of a 3 day weekend. I'm very glad I called them to get my AC checked out and tuned back up.

John installed a complete AC and heating system for me. He does excellent work. He is very thorough, pays close attention to detail, is easy to work with and his prices are competitive. The only downside is scheduling, since John is a one man company, sometimes the job previous to yours runs longer than anticipated which affects John's arrival time to your job.

This wasn't an issue with me because I am retired and John and I agreed ahead of time that either of us could reschedule at the last minute. If you don't have that kind of luxury then you might want to include some kind of clause in the contract regarding arrival times, if the work requires more than one visit.

My furnace stopped working at around 6pm on December 30, 2021 and after calling 7 other "24 hour HVAC" companies who told me they wouldn't be able to get to me at least until January 4th or for a couple of weeks, a neighbor helped me find Jonathan and Nina at Silicon Valley Comfort (SVC). Jonathan and Nina squeezed me into their busy schedule and came out that same night at 11:30pm.

They identified the problem, explained that the fuse on the furnace had blew out and that it needed to be replaced to get the furnace working again, which didn't take very long at all. Nina and Jonathan also installed our new Google Nest and walk me through setting it up. They were knowledgeable, reliable, friendly and had fair pricing given it was New Year's Eve Eve and very cold. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a good, knowledgeable team.

I seriously don't think I can explain what wonderful people Nina and John are. We have used Silicon Valley Comfort a few times over the last couple years and they are reliable/ honest and always take the time to explain things in detail. I would highly recommend this company to anyone!

John & Nina provided excellent service and were the only HVAC company out of the 8 I called in the San Jose area that were able to come same day to fix my AC unit after hours on a hot weekend. Most companies probably would have just swapped the capacitor and left. They were professional and went above and beyond the traditional AC repair. John performed a complete high tech analysis of my system and provided recommendations to improve my HVAC system at no extra cost. Great value and great service, highly recommend for anyone in SJ.

Everyone with this company is beyond professional and kind. Not only were they genuinely caring about our issue, but they were prompt and kept an open line of communication the whole time. The reliability alone is enough for 5 stars but man, they went above and beyond. Jonathan, our repair technician was so helpful and ensured everything was fixed and took the time to get our A/C back up and running. If I could give more stars, I would. highly recommend!

My AC went out at 4pm and after calling 7 other "24 hour HVAC" companies who told me they wouldn't be able to get to me for a couple days, I called Jonathan and Nina at SVC. They came the same night and stayed until the morning hours to identify the problem and implement a fix. It required them to come back a few ours later due to the blower needing soaking for cleaning.

They called me and provided updates as when they would be back. When they came back they completed the job quickly and with very fair pricing. Jonathan and Nina came to my house wearing masks and were respectful of our no shoes in the house rule(we have a baby). I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to get their AC fixed or repaired. They were both very meticulous with their work and it shows that they take pride in the quality of work they produce. I will definitely be calling them again for my HVAC needs.

During a heat wave my AC went out when we needed it the most, contacted several other companies that would not even answer their phone. Silicon Valley Comfort answered and came over as soon as they could to repair my AC. John and Nina showed up to my house and within 30-45 minutes the AC was good if not better than new. They will now be the folks who service our heating and AC units. Honest, professional, and quick with no price gouging. Just imagine that in the this valley! They now have a new life long customer! John has very good work ethic. He is very thorough, sincere and detail oriented. He replaced the control board and the capacitor to get blower motor working again. Service rate is very reasonable. Our AC went down on a 102 degree weather day in my area and my grandmother, who was going to come home from the hospital the next day with heart problems, would not have been able to withstand the unbearable heat in our house. I called AC contractors EVERYWHERE, none of them had time to come out that day. I was ready to give up calling contractors, but then I found Silicon Valley Comfort's webpage and they made time for me in the middle of the night.

They were SUPER friendly and fixed our AC system right away. We were so grateful for the services they provided right when we needed it the most. One of the BEST, if not, the BEST HVAC services one could hope for!

We called a lot of HVAC companies before landing on Silicon Valley Comfort. They were able to fit us in their schedule and come out the same day. They quickly assessed the issue and provided great insight into the problem along with what we needed to do to maintain a healthy system. They were super easy to work with and I'll definitely use them to maintain our A/C and heating going forward. Overall great experience especially compared to other HVAC companies we tried to call on the same day.

Very pleased with their service. My previous contact with John and Nina was last year, when my A/C went out on (naturally) one of the hottest days of the year. I agreed to pay a higher price for an emergency visit, and they were outside working on my compressor at 11:00 pm, with flashlights, until it was fixed. This time around, I wanted to get my furnace cleaned. John quoted a reasonable price for "light maintenance", but said if it looked really bad when he opened it up, I could decide if I wanted to go for the complete overhaul (much more expensive).

They ended up being about an hour late, but texted me to let me know, and I knew they were just being extra-thorough on the job before mine, so I was OK with it. John checked the unit, said it didn't look too bad (he didn't try to gouge or upsell me!), so he did the light maintenance. But what's even better is that he ALSO fixed a rattle that had been going on for several years.

Others had tried and either failed, or hacked a temporary fix, or said "that's the way these things are", but John stuffed himself inside until he tracked it down. Something about an inducer something-or-other. And the rattle is gone! These guys are meticulous about their work, gave me ideas for when I eventually replace my unit in the future, and were very nice to work with. Would definitely recommend and will use them again in the future.

I live in the bay area and usually like to call for local folks for my house repairs, garage door, water heater, and then this one, furnace. We called them as our furnace went out on the coldest night of the year. Nina picked the call and was honestly telling us our 15 years old furnace should not need major repair or replacement. Before the call, I already did some online research and saw some horror stories.

They came next morning, quickly found the broken igniter and replaced it with a compatible but better type. John also did a thorough checkout to be sure the furnace in a good working condition. The price is reasonable to me, especially considering the cold day with all people calling for helps. I'll call them to bypass the PG&E controller on my AC as I'm no longer in PG&E program. The price they quoted was also very reasonable. I'd highly recommend them. -Kenny

During the middle of the night on one of the hottest days in the summer, our A/C started blowing warm air. This made it hard to sleep, especially for our one year old. We were lucky to find that Silicon Valley Comfort was actually open 24 hours, unlike other HVAC companies that stated they were 24 hours but only had an answering service. John came right out and was able to diagnose the problem and had the part stocked in his Van. He was very thorough and educated us on the importance of changing our filter more often. We will definitely use them again in the future.

This one is long pending. We had thought we had a clog in drain pipe as we had a leak from secondary pipe, and John was there to help in no time, he was exhausted from a busy day but did not think twice to come over and take a look to help out. He did mention and showed the builders had used a poor quality pipe and it had broken in a way that it required thinking out of the box to fix it as the other half was glued to the system, had it been anyone else, they would have taken advantage and called for a heavy repair, but John started thinking out of the box and came up with an innovative way to fix it. and also installed a water shut off switch (for no cost). amazing service and an amazing human. Highly recommend Silicon Valley Comfort. its a relationship thats build to last.

On a recent hot day we noticed the a/c not working and searched for a local company that could come out and take a look. We found Silicon Valley Comfort and were impressed with the many good reviews. When I called I got John to go through what was happening with our air conditioner. Quite to my amazement he guided me over the phone to look at several components and was able to diagnose the issue with the burned circuit board.

Within 24hours he was able to get the specific board we needed and come to our house after hours to complete the repair. He spent about an hour to go through the whole system and make sure it was actually the circuit board and then replaced it. The system kicked right on and work perfectly - very impressive. John really knows his a/c stuff, was very professional, sincere and the price for the repair was reasonable. We will call on John in the future for some planned cooling upgrades. Highly recommended,

Of course my air conditioner stopped working during this heatwave on a Sunday. John was one of the very few companies with 24/7 service. As you can imagine, he was swamped with calls. When it became evident that he would be too busy to stop by on Sunday, he sent a portable air conditioner to my home so that I could get some relief. By the way, if you've never used a portable air conditioner, They work quite well, if not a little bit noisy.

Last night around 830, Carlos stopped by on his way home from a very long day and was able to diagnose and fix my problem within 30 minutes. John and Nina were very good about keeping in touch regarding the scheduling. Should I have another HVAC problem in the future, I would not hesitate to call them.

Fast, same-day service at a fair price! Our A/C stopped working last night, on the eve of multiple days of 95 degree heat. I called multiple HVAC companies (including the company that installed our A/C), but no one answered or returned our calls last night or today. When I finally found SV Comfort on Yelp at around 8am today (Sunday), Nina immediately picked up and put me on the schedule for the day.

They had a busy day and were running late, but they kept me up-to-date on the delays and were very apologetic. I appreciated that they kept me informed of the timing. John quickly diagnosed the problem and had the right spare part in his truck. While doing his work, he also discussed several ways to improve the HVAC setup in my house but, as another reviewer noted, he wasn't pushy at all.

Just someone who was sharing his thoughts and knowledge. Our A/C works now and we are ready for the rest of the heat wave! Five stars for working on a Sunday night, providing same day service, and getting my A/C up and running again!

Silicon Valley Comfort are top notch! When my air conditioner needed servicing, they quickly diagnosed the issue and presented me with various options. I was extremely impressed with how knowledgeable they are, as well how friendly they were to speak to and work with. In me, they have found a lifelong customer, and get my most enthusiastic recommendation.

The HVAC in my rental house was not cooling for those very hot 2 weeks of July, my renters were criying out, John was very patient to them and spent long hours to find out and fix the problems, even more, John explained situation and laid out sulutions for me, he is very experienced and very nice at the same time, their price is right! I like the service. I called them at 11PM and Johnny and Nina were ready to come at 1AM in morning to install thermostat. They have done job very neat and clean. Looking forward to get more HVAC work done from Silicon Valley comfort.

I met John via an internet ad June 2018 and was a bit nervous due to the previous HVAC person pulling a no show. I could not be more happier than I am with John services. He repaired my A.C that was 15 years old and had never been serviced before. He added new hvac line and new filter system so the a.c unit can run less stressed and can lower the electric bill and it has!.

The A.C has been running extremely nice. The electricity bill dropped average off $150-$220 a month depending on how much I use it. He then recommended a tune up for my heater unit. So glad he completed the tune up because I saw a $30-$40 dollar monthly drop in my gas bill since he tune it up amazing! John is extremely professional and knowledgeable I have recommended him to all my family and friends. Thanks again John!
