Gymnastics World was established in 1983 as Gymnastics Center of Tucson by current owner Yoichi Tomita. The name was changed to Gymnastics World in 1988 after Tomita served as assistant coach to the USA Olympic Men's Gymnastics Team in Seoul, Korea. Later, the gym was re-named to Gymnastics World Central (GWC).
GWC has served the children and youth of Tucson for over 30 years and also produced 12 Junior Olympic National Champions. At Gymnastics World, we emphasize training and progress, rather than results and competitions. GWC offers all levels of recreational gymnastics, adult classes, and competitive programs for boys and girls.
