Best service and best prices in the area! It is amazing to me that the local guys with ONE STORE can blow the big box stores out of the water with price or even match them for that matter. That speaks volumes on how much brand H-D, brand L (and unfortunately brand J) are overcharging.
The staff is extremely helpful and always looking for smart ways to save you money. Do yourself a favor and stay away from shopping at the big box stores (all of them) unless you absolutely have to.

Absolutely awesome they have beaten the big chains every single time for me. There customer service is the best ive seen in over 20 yrs. Anything i can buy there i do . and the quality of materiel is much better also! It absolutely blows my mind that a privately owned yard can beat national chains. In price and quality.

My friend and I Kim took on the task of making a replacement wood sign at the Springfield VFW Post 3965. When I told the Square Deal staff what I was trying to do and who it was for they told me that they would donate the wood for the sign and gladly helped me measure it all out. They made me feel proud to be a veteran and happy that we have such a dedicated and professional business here in Springfield that cares about the community. As others have said, this place has great customer service. Their prices are usually a bit higher than Jerry's, et al, but they do offer free delivery. I'm sure the cost of that is rolled into their prices but that's fine. I also like that they use Seneca for their lumber (much of it anyway), because that's one of the best mills. The pallet of plywood I just got has to be some of the nicest-looking CDX I've seen.

I ordered a decent amount of wood and it came to a little more than I had estimated from other people but they delivered it all to Santa Clara from Springfield for free. The guy delivering it even helped me unload it all into the backyard, which was enormous considering everything was 16 foot long or longer. The people that work here are awesome and very knowledgeable. I saved the extra $20 or so in the delivery. It's $79 to have Home Depot deliver it I would've had to rent a Uhaul truck. Thank guys!
