Grape Ape Tattoo opened in 2008 as Rogue Parlour Tattoo, when James Peterson and Mark Pierce ended up stranded without a shop after the chaotic destruction of Bert's Classic Tattoo, where they had been working under the world-famous tattooer Bert Rodriguez. Bert was known for operating the Tattoos and Blues convention and being a staple of tattooing in Santa Rosa, CA.

i went in yesterday to get two tattoos done by anthony and i love both of them so much. he paid a lot of attention to the details going into both pieces and took his time doing them. price was extremely fair as well considering the amount of detail. the facility itself was also very clean and welcoming inside.

Grapeape is probably one of the best tattoo places in Tucson. They are so kind and caring towards customers, and the energy there just makes you feel like you’re with a group of friends! I get my tattoos from there and I will continue to do so :)

Had a tattoo done by Anthony, I walked in not knowing what I wanted, and came out with a half sleeve full of things that I like. The environment is really relaxed and it’s like a whole family in the shop. Every artist inside is very professional, clean, and amazing with their artwork. The first time I went in I had gotten my back tattooed by Emily, the lettering is so crisp and everything healed nicely.

My daughter and I were looking to get our noses pierced. Grape Ape came up as a top recommendation. When we called to ask about an appointment for Sunday, we were told that the shop is closed Sundays and Mondays. I spoke with Tyler, who was very professional, and he even offered to meet up with us on Sunday when I told him I'm from out of state! Since they're open so late (until midnight), it actually worked out ok for us to head to the shop Saturday night. We walked in and were immediately greeted. Tyler took care of us right away. Everything went super smooth!

My design idea lacked an artists touch to say the least but my guy Sammy came through. Like I told him I was embarrassed that it took me so long to get a tattoo from him and have full faith in his skill and… ability to create. Shop had nothing but good vibes and good people too. This one meant a lot as it’s for my Dad and means that much more that an old friend was the one to do it. I give them 6 out of 5 stars for sure! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
