The Frantz family began their wholesale nursery in 1979. Our parents Tim and Mitzi Frantz started with 1.5 acres of land in Hickman, and began growing landscape trees and shrubs. Fast forward 40 years, and the nursery has grown to over 400 acres and is operated by the second generation. Our growth is made possible by the dedication of our 300+ amazing employees.
We have fostered a culture of delivering excellence in both quality and customer service. With the housing crisis of 2009 came the need to diversify our business. We asked ourselves "Why not open an outlet store to serve local gardeners and DIY landscape projects?" We have never allowed the public access to our fields, as it would not be a good fit for our busy farm.

Services
Frantz Garden Center is a full service retail nursery with the connections to offer you the freshest plants at the best prices. We are an outlet store for our parent company, Frantz Wholesale Nursery, LLC. We offer a full line of trees and shrubs, as well as flats of color, sod, bulk landscape materials and vegetables.
We have expanded our line of products to include a broad selection of citrus, grown in a CDFA-approved screen facility. We offer a wide array of flowers and will be glad to review what will work best for your landscaping needs. Perfect for a bit of additional shade, and add a powerful signature piece to your landscape.
Our bulk materials department offers a variety of products to meet your landscaping needs at competitive prices. All materials are available for bulk pickup seven days a week, no appointment needed. Bring an open bed truck or trailer to pick up by the cubic yard or half yard. This is a premium natural product and is to 1 inch in size.
We believe that good stewardship is good business. We have made substantial investments in solar power generation, water recycling, and soil composting. We are committed to using as few resources as possible to grow our plants, which work naturally to clean both water and air. Approximately 90% of the nursery's energy needs are met by our on-farm solar plant.
Malaquias Vega, our in-house extraordinaire, will help you become a better gardener, by giving you useful, creative, and cost effective tips to maintain and grow your home garden. We recommend winter pruning on late spring-to-summer blooming deciduous trees for a few reasons; this is only a few weeks before the buds swell and the sap starts flowing, and the cuts will have healed over.
