Zi Tam was awesome and super great at answering my questions about my very first tattoo. It came out perfect and I couldn't be happier with the result.
I'd love to travel back from out of state to work with him again.
Edit: a month after my visit and I wish I could leave ten stars. I'm looking forward to an excuse to travel from out of state to visit again.

Cannot stress how bad the line work and shading is on the tattoo I got from this place. I asked about the shading and they said it would change as it heals. It doesn't. It looks like stretch marks. It was my first tattoo and I didn't know any better. Don't pay someone to mess your skin up.

Zi was very cool and did an awesome job on my little wizard frog tatt this afternoon :) I'm not sure what some people are even complaining about with the prices it was very reasonable, heck I expected to spend more than I did. Just keep in mind he's a pro who's been at this for a while, he knows what he's doing and he knows what his time and experties are worth

Zi is amazing and his work is fantastic. He actually takes his time and makes sure you love what you're getting. You don't feel hurried. The shop is clean and everything is comfortable.

DONT GO HERE. I got a VCH piercing and specifically asked for a curved barbell. I was told that to give it room to swell and heal i needed to get it done with a belly button ring. I trusted them to be experts and later found out how big of a mistake that was. I went to another shop to discuss it and change it out and once i did i was told that they had put in an externally threaded belly button ring as well. They put me at risk for tearing and infection and charged me extra for it. I can't stress enough that nobody should ever come here. Go to crimson breed instead.

Went in a while ago, and got some filler pieces done. Was priced at 70$ per quarter sized flower, and got seven of them, which I thought was steep but I paid with no complaints. 2 of them didn’t heal correctly so after a couple weeks I reached out to the guy who had done them to ask For a touch up. Usually reputable shops do them for free, and I have even paid before for touch ups. I just wanted it done. He left me on read. I would have been happy with a no.
Second time I called about getting something behind my ears done. Again super small - when I called ahead they quoted me at 280 for what

All around stellar experience. I had a rather complicated design, which they handled with ease all the while making sure I felt comfortable and had a great experience. I've been here before, and I'll definitely go back for my next tattoo or piercing. Great shop, great artists!

I got my first piercings in Bloomington done here with Zi. My two friends and I went in, and we had so much fun! He was really easy to work with and really pleasant to be around. My two friends had never gotten piercings before, so I was really glad when we started talking with Zi! The place is clean, and I appreciated that he showed us that all our piercing materials were clean. I will definitely return here!

Zi was amazing!!! I had 2 small tattoos done tonight and I love them both. He was wonderful to work with and dealt with my non-decisiveness very well. I will never go anywhere else. I am extremely happy with him and this shop in general. Highly highly recommended!

Zi is an awesome guy. My tattoo was very simple but he worked with me to make it exactly how I wanted. Great experience, would get tattooed by Zi again in a heartbeat. Would also date him but that is beside the point

Honestly, I could not have had a better time here. Not only did the owner take the time to walk me through the self-care procedures for my two helix ear piercings, but he showed genuine kindness and respect to me and my roommate (two college girls that he could have easily written off as soon as we walked in the door). From beginning to end, I felt that I was in good hands, and I will be returning for my next piercing. 10/10 would recommend (and has already) to a friend.

I got my first tattoo done 6 years ago at this parlor, inked by Shannon. I was extremely pleased and happy with how it turned out, Shannon did an amazing job. Because of the amazing results, I drove over an hour to get my second tattoo done at this parlor recently. Shannon was not in so Jennifer did my second tat. I just requested a simple evil eye but Jennifer still took great care and did an awesome job. Pretty much you'll be in good hands if you go to this location!

I went to Genuine first to only get an estimate, they were super nice and really listened to what I wanted and worked with me on my budget. Because of this I did not go anywhere else, I went back in a couple days and got my first tattoo from Jen. She took what I brought to her and what I said and came up with an awesome design. She kept my nervousness down by just socializing. She was totally awesome and I will definitely look to her if I want any more ink. Thanks Jen.

Jenifer pierced my conch and vertical helix (because I'm so cool and hip) and she was awesome- quick, precise, steady. The place was clean. Will go to her in the future and recommend her for anyone who needs some new holes!

I recently went to Genuine Tattoo for my first tattoo. Everyone at the shop was friendly and helpful. Jennifer was assigned to do my tattoo, and she was awesome! I was nervous and wanted to make sure everything was safe, sanitary, and the tattoo stencil was in the right spot. She took utmost care to get me through the tattoo with no issues whatsoever! She was so calm and easy to work with that I would absolutely recommend her to others!

Schooled by the famous Tattoo Charlie of Louisville, Shannon is an excellent artist himself and always seems to attract other good artists as well. My last piece was from his studio and it would be hard to imagine going anywhere else (even though I've moved across the country). He's going to be a little pricier that some fly by night scratcher. But this is a permanent piece of art on your body...do you really want to go coupon clipping for that, or do you want to pay for experience and quality?

I guess I'll always call it "Big Red's", but it is officially Genuine Tattoo Co. I have several tattoos, some of them from other places in town and elsewhere. However, ever since I first went here, I have never gone anywhere else. Even since I moved to Dallas, I only get tattoos when I am in Bloomington visiting, and I always go here.
